Russian heavy weapons including missile systems have been seen moving towards the border with Finland, hours after Russia warned its northern neighbour against joining NATO.
An unconfirmed video uploaded last night appears to show two Russian coastal defence missile systems moving along a road on the Russian side of the border that leads to Helsinki.
The missile systems are thought to be the K-300P Bastion-P mobile coastal defence system, designed to take out surface ships up to and including aircraft carrier battle groups.
The Russian deployment comes as Finnish Prime Minister Sanna Marin said she expects her government 'will end the discussion before midsummer' on whether to apply for NATO membership.
Recent opinions polls by a Finnish market research company put 84% of Finns as viewing Russia as a 'significant military threat', up by 25% on last year.
In response, Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov euphemistically warned the move would 'not improve' the security situation in Europe, and Moscow lawmaker Vladimir Dzhabarov added more bluntly it would mean 'the destruction of the country'.
'We have repeatedly said that the alliance remains a tool geared towards confrontation and its further expansion will not bring stability to the European continent,' Peskov said.

It depends on how insane Putin has gone. Attacking Finland would in no way be like going into the Ukraine.
We kept very close tabs on what was going on down there during that time. I had a scout-swimmer friend who, along with a few buddies, swam ashore on the commie-side of the fence one night, walked around the russian base and took pictures of all the russian hardware present. They then swam back out to the boat. This expedition proved that nuclear-capable missiles were brought back to Cuba in the late 70’s

Finland is not now, nor has ever, shown the desire to threaten or invade Russia...
Mexico, on the other hand, has been blatantly invading the United States for the past 20-years and stealing our resources...
While the wetbacks do not have any rockets or nukes on our southern border, they have sucessfully placed 45-to-50 million invaders into the USA, and are soon to add anothe 20-million or so to that total...
All without a significant action from the indolently blissful U.S. citizens...

Nuclear use by Russia would be an unjustifiable war crime of epic magnitude. It would be a new holocaust as millions of Finns perish for no reason. The response would be the launching of nukes on Russia followed by a third world War.

It’s funny. When Russia moves defensive weapons along its border they are definitely going to attack and a threat to their neighbors. When NATO does it, it’s defensive! They have no legitimate fear of our missles. I get you want to be on the side of your country but having zero consistency is really a detriment to all.
War is not a crime. Nations are sovereign and beholden to no one and no law. International law is a joke. Who’s the policeman? Who justifies the court decisions? It’s simolynwar by other means.
Sure nuking Finland would be unjustifiable. It will NOT lead to nuclear retaliation if we have any sense. We aren’t going into a nuclear holocaust because Finland. Have you lost your sense of reality ? I sure hope Biden is smarter than you, which is in itself a scary thought.
