State Financial Officers Urge Biden to Prioritize American Energy

President Joe Biden should prioritize American energy independence and end reliance on adversaries such as Russia, Venezuela, and Iran, 27 state financial officers say in a letter Tuesday to the president.

In their letter, they urge Biden to consider the consequences of foreign energy dependence for U.S. businesses and consumers.

“Policies implemented during the last year thwart the vitality of American energy production,” the financial officers’ letter to Biden reads. “The rising cost of fuel, coupled with precipitous inflation has, and will, continue to result in dire consequences for working-class families.”

The 27 state-level officials are part of the State Financial Officers Foundation, a nonprofit that promotes free-market, fiscally responsible public policy through its network of financial officers, auditors, and treasurers.

Among the signatories are state financial officers representing Georgia, Florida, Pennsylvania, Arizona, Ohio, Missouri, North Carolina, Texas, Louisiana, and Indiana.

Biden’s failed energy policies were wreaking havoc on Americans well before Russia invaded Ukraine on Feb. 24, they write:

Well, at least my state of Big, Beautiful Florida is involved in this one. Why she's not involved in all these actions, I have no idea.

States writing against the Global Warmunist WH Administration. Hopefully, they’ll do more than just this “strongly-worded letter.”

Global Warming PING!

It they cared about American’s they would fund a Manhattan style project to rapidly develop, commercialize and scale up. Geological energy storage systems, compressed air storage systems / cryo air storage, pumped hydro / gravity / mined cavity hydro storage systems. Pick no winners let the technology mature and let the market pick which to use based on geological location, geography factors and cost per MWh of storage. Why storage? Because solar and wind are already half the cost or less per MWh than new coal power plants with scrubbers. They are as cheap as simple cycle gas peaker plants and much cheaper than interrogated combined cycle plants. The issue has and will always be storage for intermitancy. Once storage costs come down can mass production it will be cheaper to build out an over capacity of solar or wind and bank that power in gigawatt scale storage then sell it out of the storage systems at peak rates or baseload rates if you have enough storage systems. The IEA has the data proving solar is the cheapest form of energy on the planet with bulk cheap storage it will be cheaper to capture sun vs digging for coal or drilling for oil by half or more.

The first group that comes to the market with $100 MWh storage will make trillions as at that point solar, wind even offshore wind is cheaper overall to the plug than any thermal power source. Only Chinese nuclear power plants would come close since they are heavily subsidised it’s not a fair metric and totally unachievable in the West.

The very next admin should push for a storage project of national laboratories level. All their oil cronies can still get rich off petrochemicals which will be needed for the next century as it is. Heck with people not burning oil as much it would not only extend the resource past the 46 years we have left it would massively increase the profit margins of those petrochemicals. The amount of oil in plastics and medication and lubricants is small compared to the final value of the product especially medications where tenths of a cent worth of raw materials turns into tens of dollars worth of pills.

There's the problem with your approach. resident Huggies isn't going to "let the market pick."
