McConnell says he’ll vote against Jackson for Supreme Court

WASHINGTON (AP) — Senate Republican leader Mitch McConnell announced Thursday that he will vote against confirming Ketanji Brown Jackson, saying he “cannot and will not” support the groundbreaking nominee for a lifetime appointment on the Supreme Court.

While McConnell’s opposition was not unexpected and Jackson’s confirmation is still on track, his declaration coming only hours after the Senate Judiciary Committee wrapped up four days of hearings probably will lead many fellow Republicans to follow suit.

Democrats can confirm Jackson, the first Black woman nominated for the nation’s highest court, without any GOP support in the 50-50 Senate, where Vice President Kamala Harris can cast the tiebreaking vote.

McConnell slammed the liberal groups that have supported Jackson, and he criticized her for refusing to take a position on the size of the nine-member court, even though that decision is ultimately up to Congress. Some advocacy have pushed for enlarging the court after three of President Donald Trump’s nominees cemented a conservative majority.

“I’ve only watched a short bit of her testimony, but she
seems to have a bit of an attitude, an expectancy of
entitlement.”

Lots of smirks and scowls.

“Sasse the ass will vote for her, he was practically licking her behind during the hearings so Manchin’s vote will mean nothing.”

Yeah, I see the insufferable Ben Sasse and the reprehensible Mitt Romney both voting for her. I think, though, that Linda will be a NO vote, which will be a first for him.

Coward McConnell. He can afford to vote no, she probably has the votes especially if you add the RINOs to the Dems.

“If Trump had nominated a black woman, demonrats would have fought tooth and nail at volume 11 against the “historic” pick.”

The Dems did just that when Bush II nominated Janice Rogers Brown for U.S. Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia. Later, when Bush considered nominating her to replace Sandra Day O’Connor on SCOTUS the Dems went ballistic, and Bush eventually did not proceed with the nomination.

“At lunch, I heard some people on some talk show, Daily Blast, I think, just gushing how brace she was, and how impressive she was to have risen to such a lofty position. All the praise was about overcoming her personal circumstances. Not one remark noted her judicial acumen or intellect.”

And they were probably silent on the fact she was ONLY nominated because of her skin color and gender, which was the only criteria set by Biden.

Interesting observations. Thanks for the mention.

I had a person in my life at one point, that refused to tip
waiters.

Tried to explain that it is pretty important to them to
augment their salaries with tips, but by that point I was
the Great Satan so not sure that ever sunk in.

Yeah...

I found that rather unsettling considering the position she
is being considered for.

And kick white puppies and kittens.

This hag loves

Pedos
Terrorists
Black Supremists

And the way she runs in circles away from questions as if they were tigers makes me wonder how long till she turns into butter in NAMBLA’s hands.

She will not be confirmed. No nominee can overcome a record of LOW sentencing child predators. People, she embodies soft on crime at a time when crime is near decades year highs. Manchin will NOT vote for her. Tester won’t either. He’s up for re-elect in MT. McConnell is right: she blamed her hideous decisions on Congress and when she was tired of talking about it, she said she won’t answer any more questions! Oh really judge? Really now? Then go home and sit down and think what could have been

If McConnell is voting against her, then that means the DNC has the votes and we haven’t heard the last of her. Will be very happy to be proven wrong.

Cocaine Mitch must know KJB will be put through. Can’t imagine the uproar from the praetorian guard if she’s rejected.
KJB is the Big Get Even. Watch.

At this point, I am wondering if she will be worse than Sotomayor.

I don't think Brown is a dummy, but she is not very honest.
