The White House on Thursday cast U.S. President Joe Biden as a man leading the free world as he began a series of summit meetings in Europe with the promise to “hold Russia accountable” for its invasion of Ukraine.
Over the course of 24 hours, the European diplomatic capital of Brussels is hosting an emergency NATO summit, a gathering of the Group of Seven (G7) industrialized nations and a summit of the European Union.

I watched how Biden was greeted when he got off the plane in Belgium. All the people meeting him treated like they were meeting their great grandfather. He is feeble, shaky and uncertain and somewhat confused. He is treated kindly but no one really pays any attention to what he says. He is only someone present.... his words have no influence on the world scene.

The summit is about shaping a decaying European Union. The Ukraine invasion offers opportunity for developing consensus around an existential threat
