Lord Coe has said that the integrity and future of women’s sport is “very fragile” if federations do not get it right when creating regulations around the participation of transgender women.
The president of World Athletics said that “gender cannot trump biology” when deciding whether trans athletes should compete alongside those who were biologically female at birth.
Coe, who has been head of the sport’s federation since 2015, was speaking at the World Indoor Athletics Championships in Belgrade, two days after Lia Thomas became the first known transgender athlete to win a NCAA swimming title in the United States, with victory in the women’s 500-yard freestyle. Thomas, 22, who is understood to have begun hormone replacement therapy in 2019, came fifth and eighth in her other two races.
“The integrity of women’s sport — if we don’t get this right — and, actually, the future of women’s sport, is very fragile,” Coe said.
“These are sensitive issues, they are societal issues — they go way, way beyond sport. I don’t have the luxury to get into endless discussions or the school of moral philosophy.”
Coe pointed to the federation’s history of regulating the participation of athletes with differences in sex development (DSD), including the middle-distance runner Caster Semenya. Under World Athletics rules, athletes with DSD must show testosterone levels below 5nmol/L3 for six months before competing, while trans women have to show they are below this level for 12 months — but Coe thinks that should be extended.
“We are asking for a greater length of period before competition because the residual impact of transitioning like that is more profound,” Coe said. “There is no question that testosterone is the key determinant in performance.”

I remember back in the 1970s when the Soviet Union tried to have enormous, burly female shot-putters compete in the Olympics. It wasn’t OK. It wasn’t fair. Testing was done. Frauds were kicked out so that an actual woman could rightfully win.
But today, women don’t have a chance in women’s sports, because they don’t have the balls.
If you’re 6’2” and have twice the muscle mass of a woman already, one year of low T isn’t going to affect anything.
If the WOKE win, there will be no women’s sports.

I think I prefer to be on the side of encouraging those who want to do sumthin sumthin. In this case it is the transgenders who wanna engage in sports, so I encourage them to start their own transgender baseball, swimming, and football teams.

If you’re the parent of a gal who participates in school athletics, you should sue the bejeezus out of the school if they try to do that.

Getting communism out of your kids’ school and out of your city, your state, your nation, should be a high priority for everyone. THEN and only then will some of this insane BS start to wither back.
My personal opinion is that non-participation in the insanity is the only way to get things going in the right direction. Stop feeding the beast and let it die. Letting even one little part of it remain is a capitulation.
We’re not going to be able to go back to some past where everything is all right and people are nice to each other and respectful of authority, have national pride, observe the law, etc. But we can change the future world so that it will be even better than anything that existed in the past.
Some courage will be required, and some love - not love for security and peace, because we may never see that again in our lifetimes, but love for those people up there in the future and hope that they will live in a better, saner world.
