On Friday’s broadcast of HBO’s “Real Time,” host Bill Maher criticized people who have attempted to make the Russian invasion of Ukraine about their pet issues and criticized those who have attempted to blame the invasion on former President Donald Trump by asking, “if Putin thought Trump was really that supportive of him, why didn’t he invade when Trump was in office?” And arguing that the question’s worth asking “if you’re not locked into one, intransigent thought.”

If you’re at all reasonable, reality has to smack you upside the head eventually.
I can imagine the cognitive dissonance this observation caused in Maher’s audience of clapping seals.
I think I have agreed with him around 6 times in the last year or so.
He was perfectly willing to tank the economy and see poor people suffer in order to get Trump out of office. Well, he got his wish and sure enough the economy is now tanking and people are starting to really suffer. Never forget that about Maher.
How long before the left cancels Maher? You are not allowed to ask even one intelligent question, or the left will be out to destroy you.
has it been verified that this is really Maher and not a body double?
Maher may be like the ten year old kid that unscrews a light bulb, sticks an index finger in a live socket, and suddenly realizes FXXKTHATWASABADIDEA.
Of course, how long that memory memory and education holds is a different story.
It took the GOP base a long time to realize they were being lied to since ‘89.

Because leftists like maher lie but do it in an entertaining way so the useful idiots believe him.
Maher is just another leftist trojan horse saying what we want to hear so we start to trust him. Then, he will go full leftist again and a bunch more people will blindly follow him.
It is the political equivilent of Ali’s rope-a-dope.

Because Bill, the entire Trump/Russia thing was a Democrat/Deep State operation designed to wreck Trump. Get it now? It had the unintended consequence of undermining our foreign policy and world standing because the likes of Putin and Xi were sitting back and gleefully watching us destroy ourselves because Hillary Clinton was pissed off.
He spends the entire skit ripping Trump and throws one bone to the Repubs and they think it is Christmas.
The left is trying to say Trump was harming NATO which was Putin’s goal. But let’s be real. Trump only demanded NATO members meet their obligations and “pay their fair share“ which should in fact strengthen NATO because it wouldn’t be reliant on the USA taking up the slack. Trump was right to call out our allies to do their part in defense of their nations or pay us to take up their slack. It wasn’t that he believed in a weak America, far from it, he believed in strengthened allies. After all, it’s their borders and blood and treasure on the front line. Not ours. Trump was no isolationist. Far from it. He knew a stronger West would keep China and Russia and others in line. Covid surely should’ve taught nations the high risks of outsourcing nationally strategic items. France and PPE, for example. Hopefully Germany and oil and gas as it and others in Europe abandoned nuclear power in an overreaction to Fukushima. You can’t go green without nuclear power as a corner stone. And you don’t want to feed your enemies war machine coffers becoming energy dependent upon them. But hey, Nord Stream 2 good Keystone XL bad. SMH. Venezuelan despot’s oil good, Canadian shale oil bad.
I still say Don’t Be Fooled.
He is still a died in the wool liberal. His only beef with the Dems is on tactics. He is only worried because Brandon is dragging the Dem ticket down which means their progressive agenda won’t be enacted. It’s hard to believe that at this stage of his life he’s had a sudden change of heart.
