Former Attorney General William Barr claims in a new book that he yelled at his boss, then-President Donald Trump over a discussion regarding Hunter Biden shortly before the November 2020 election.
“In his upcoming book, ‘One Damn Thing After Another,’ Barr recalled that in October 2020, Trump called soon after a Newsmax segment on Hunter Biden’s laptop,” Fox News reported Wednesday.
“Reports about the computer revolved around emails that appeared to connect Joe Biden to his son’s business dealings when the elder Biden was vice president,” the report continued.
“You know this stuff from Hunter Biden’s laptop?” Trump asked Barr, the book says.
“Mr. President, I can’t talk about that, and I am not going to,” Barr says he responded “sharply.”
Hunter Biden was reportedly already under federal investigation at the time for various allegations including potential tax issues. Barr wrote in his book that Trump didn’t appreciate his tone.
“You know, if that was one of my kids,” Trump began before Barr cut him off quickly.
“Dammit, Mr. President, I am not going to talk to you about Hunter Biden. Period!” Barr fired back, in a raised voice.
After a brief silence, Trump got off the phone; Barr wrote that his chief of staff, Will Levi, who was in the room during the call, was shocked.
“You yelled at the President?” Levi asked, with Barr nodding in confirmation, the book claims.

Maybe his last words should have been: “you’re fired.”
The result delay, no action, leaving a political inference to be drawn contrary to the interests of Attorney General Barr's own party, although perhaps perfectly in line with the interests of Barr's faction within that party. In public statements.
In a Democrat administration when a political objective is espied, a demand letter is arranged and the Attorney General moves on warp speed to pervert the First Amendment, intimidate American mothers and flings the full force of the Department of Justice and its attendant criminal enforcement bureaucracies against the Bill of Rights. In doing so he follows a repeated pattern of the Democrat party of waging lawfare, criminalizing political disputes, which we saw repeated in the constitutional atrocities committed by the Democrat Attorney General Garland in the wake of the January 6 protest. Indisputably done for rank political partisan purpose at the cost of the Constitution and the rights of fellow Americans.
Barr has made it clear that he wanted to protect the integrity of the Department of Justice after the Russia hoax scandal.
No doubt Bob Barr will claim that he was acting to protect the rule of law by declining to follow the instructions of his superior, declining even to confide his intentions with his superior, by delaying the matter until the political desired effect could take place. He is not defending the rule of law, he is not defending the Constitution as he might protest, nor the rule of law but the institutional reputation of his office. Most likely, he was doing that and protecting his faction of his party too.
In the private sector we call this regulatory capture. It is one thing to protect the administration of justice from rank politics and quite another to isolate it from the political system and the will of the people expressed by their constitutionally representative officer, The President of The United States.
The deep state has captured the agency most directly concerned to protect our Constitution and to protect us.
What a joke! Barr was supposed to protect President Trump.
Instead, he protected Hunter Biden, and therefore, Joe Biden.
What a treasonous snake.
Barr has outed himself as someone who should never have the honor of serving a nation that so many others have died to preserve. Trump was elected by millions of Americans, and irrespective of whether or not you believe he won or lost the second election, he still was supported by many millions of Americans. Barr has absolutely no right to dismiss a man who earned the respect and support of so many Americans.
The only reason Barr could do that, and write this trashy book, is because Barr has no respect for the American people who have opinions contrary to his. He’s taken the hard-earned money provided by American taxpayers, but consider’s himself and his opinions superior to them and theirs. He’s truly a low life individual, in addition to his slovenly persona.
Cue the attacks on yet another dud of a Trump pick.

Sure... but this says more to me about the shape of the DS guvmint lifer swamp and what PDJT had to work with then anything about him.
Perhaps the sonuvabitch is truly afraid that Trump will be re-elected and be in a position to prosecute him and his fellow-travelers.
Another anecdote from his book that makes Barr look inept, knowing what we know now. This guys publicist isn’t doing a very good job.
Well, it really is all about you, now isn’t it?
The U.S. government got along just fine without a DOJ until 1870. The Attorney General and the U.S. Attorneys worked under another department (the Treasury Department, I think) and mostly represented the U.S. government in legal matters related to Federal lands. The only notable criminal cases they needed to prosecute were for treason and tax evasion.
At least 95% of the U.S. criminal code should be eliminated immediately.
He made a big mistake writing his book. He just revealed himself to be an insubordinate, dare I say treasonous, deep state flunkie.
Barr should be charged with dereliction of duty. He’s nothing but a weasel trying to make a buck with a book out just in time to do more baseless damage to Trump. Despicable.
When Trump ( supposedly )said “you know about this Hunter Biden laptop?” I’m inclined to wonder did
Barr hear something like “et tu Barr?”
> “Barr simply chose not to use his office publicly to pursue political ends.”
Let’s discuss that a little.
On the surface, Barr looks principled in not pursuing an opponent’s crimes for reasons political, “wouldn’t be proper” etc.
But as AG, Barr doesn’t get to choose who and who not to prosecute among connected persons. Barr played politics here.
Barr’s job was to prosecute.
Barr chose not to do his job; he disobeyed.
That said, it was somewhat okay for Barr to tell Trump “politely and respectfully” that he shouldn’t discuss it but he still had the duty to investigate.
Barr should have said, “Mr. President, with all due respect the Hunter Biden matter is under investigation but I’d rather not discuss unless I see it’s vital to National Security. Mr. President, if you have obtained some information concerning this matter, please tell me, otherwise I wish to remain neutral as this involves your opponent in an election year.
As I think on this, I would say Barr is in fear of surviving, prompting him to flip-flop in his behavior.
In other words, Barr is a coward.
I would say the same if it was Merrick Garland talking to Biden about matters of Don Jr.
Bad phone! No new case for you.
“If Trump wznted a derailed detailed on every case” = “If Trump wanted a detailed report on every case “
Barr’s refusal to examine the issue of Hunter Biden - who had been heavily involved in corrupt Ukrainian politics and inappropriate US influence for years - contributed to getting us to the verge of WW III. The problems with Biden were way more than just sex and drugs.
The Biden family personally and the Obama/Clinton political combine were all through Ukrainian politics and finances. And nobody is asking about that, thanks to the fact that Barr conveniently killed any questions at the start.
Did Barr refuse to examine the Hunter Biden fiasco, or did he just refuse to discuss it with the president?
I’m still waiting to see this video evidence of Epstein committing suicide that Barr claims exists.
Et Tu, Barr?
This is good, very good. Worthy of publishing.
Excuse me? WHY can you not talk to the POTUS about an obvious case of massive corruption which directly affected US foreign policy as well as prominent US political figures?
and you’d better have a damned good answer or I would fire your azz on the spot if I were the president.
That’s EXACTLY the kind of case you should have pursued with the full force of the law.
