The reason why more have been denied is because they lifestyle they live is determined to be so negative as to not warrant wasting a transplant on them, they are likely to misuse it and die anyway.
Getting qualified for a transplant is HARD and many things will bump you off the list. Such as living a crappy lifestyle, like smoking, doing drugs, drinking.. etc. Do the math from there.
If true, that most black transplant patients wait longer for an organ than most white patients, could it be that it takes longer to find a suitable match for these black patients than for other races?

I remember an illegal 18 year old immigrant, getting a kidney, the hospital messed up, then got another one and then died. A rich guy was paying for both but why wouldn’t a productive citizen be first in line?

A person ought to be able to leave organs in their will to be valued at fair market value as part of their estate. Upon death, a heart should be valued at perhaps $10,000 and kidneys at, say, $3,500 each. People in need of a transplant would be better off being able to get organs and the estate would benefit heirs.

Blacks are 13% of the population. Therefore, MUCH less likely to find suitable donors. How many blacks actually sign up to become organ donors? Do all those thugs shooting each other carry around a donor card with their gang membership card? Seems a lot of healthy body parts could be take from them.
Living donors are family.

I had a friend who's sister who needed a kidney. It would be her third and she needed a near perfect match.
My friend was a match.
She told her sister no.
She got lots of pressure from the family and finally told them bluntly that her kidneys were not going to be put into someone who had destroyed four kidneys because she was unwilling to put the work into keeping them healthy.
