'Dynamic' storm to unload up to a foot of snow across Midwest
AccuWeather ^ | Feb 15, 20222 | Jessica Storm

Posted on 02/16/2022 4:14:52 AM PST by where's_the_Outrage?

An expansive and multifaceted storm is expected to track across the central and eastern United States this week and produce a plethora of impacts, including accumulating snow and hazardous ice.

Up to a foot of snow is anticipated to fall from northeastern Kansas to the thumb of Michigan, including the major metropolitan area of Chicago, from Wednesday through Thursday. For many places in the Midwest, precipitation will start as rain and turn to snow as temperatures drop. Many, including those in the Windy City, can expect slippery roads and sidewalks on Wednesday night and Thursday, especially as bitterly cold air causes any wet spots from rain to freeze up.

"This looks to be a rather dynamic storm with the potential for major impacts of several kinds, including heavy snow, significant ice accretion, flooding, severe weather and even a rather broad zone of strong winds," said AccuWeather Meteorologist La Troy Thornton, adding that nearly the entire eastern half of the nation will likely be in play for at least one of these threats.

Note to self, buy beer. Sunday I left Miami wearing shorts to fly into a snow storm at Detroit. Today is supposed to be in the 40's just N of D.

You should be alright. No snow until tomorrow morning in Detroit. Expect @40 degrees, Wind & Rain. Nice, and balmy February day.😉

Is this a panhandle hook? As longtime weatherman in Cleveland, Dick Gaddard, used to call some of these snow storms. I live in the Texas pandle now and we’re expecting a bit of snow tonight. Then it’ll be on it’s way to y’all in the midwest.

No snow predicted for here. Two to three inches of rain which will melt the snow from the last storm and cause flooding.

--- "An expansive and multifaceted storm...."

...bringing lots of heavy adjectives and possibly some adverb showers over the next horrific days. More conjunctions will be required to link all together. Commas likely.

“the next horrific days.”

The weather reporting is really getting extreme. All for the doom & gloom climate change narrative.

We are experiencing a news desert resulting from nothing much actually happening.

Reporting on the President is usually good to develop a few paid for words but that is not possible.

Nothing is happening. The Progressive government is floundering, accomplishing nothing.

I know this might come as a shock to MSM viewers; but, these sort of things tend to happen in winter.

Is it unprecedented? They have to say ‘unprecedented’ somewhere in there....

Snow in the midwest in February is suddenly big news.

In other news, the dog pooped in the backyard this morning.

My weather app (which is never wrong lol) says that here in the middle of the thumb of michiganstan, we will get about 9 inches over a 24 hour period.
Translated from my app, about a foot or more of snow.

And to that, I want the phrase uttered over and over about ‘how many millions of people are in danger’ from this storm. Want the graphic with a big red swath across the Midwest.

I see you are new here.

So far I like you.

I have no taste.

But I like you.
