I don’t blame people for quitting her staff. Her cackle on a daily basis alone would drive me nuts.

Dems will select a younger person, Asian or black, to fill the seat. Adds a convenient distraction to Biden’s troubles and possible benefit for midterms. They will expedite the process to get a radical justice approved before possible loss of the Senate.

Maybe the Reps should put more effort in uncovering voter fraud in the 2020 GA senate races.

I get the feeling that she doesn’t ‘cackle’ much at all except as a nervous public displacement when she’s on the spot.

Replacing Breyer should not be a difficult task. All Biden has to do is find another ultraliberal. Beyer has been nothing short of a liberal tool on the court for two decades.

Even his thinking now is liberal supporting. His decision to remain for another year was likely due in large part to the major issues the court was about to confront — abortion, guns, separation of church and state, and potentially affirmative action. These are all matters that he has strong feelings about as a liberal, and he thinks that his 27 years on the court might enable him to prevent a wild swing to the right. Not a very good intent by one who is supposed to a judge and decide on fairness for everyone, not policy for a few.

Biden wants an African American woman and has stated that. The two leading contenders are said to be federal Judge Ketanji Brown Jackson, who was on President Obama’s shortlist for the court in 2016, and California Supreme Court Justice Leondra Kruger, who served as assistant, and then deputy solicitor general in both Democratic and Republican administrations prior to her nomination to California’s highest court.

For those of you who do not know Jackson, here’s a short list of her work:

In April and June 2018, Jackson presided over two cases challenging the Department of Health and Human Services’ decision to terminate grants for teen pregnancy prevention programs two years early.[23] Jackson ruled that the decision to terminate the grants early, without any explanation for doing so, was arbitrary and capricious.
On August 15, 2018, in AFGE, AFL-CIO v. Trump, Jackson invalidated provisions of three executive orders that would have limited the time federal employee labor union officials could spend with union members.
On September 4, 2019, in Center for Biological Diversity v. McAleenan, Jackson held that Congress had stripped federal courts of jurisdiction to hear non-constitutional challenges to the U.S. Secretary of Homeland Security’s decision to waive certain environmental requirements to facilitate construction of a border wall on the United States and Mexico border.
On November 25, 2019, Jackson issued a ruling in Committee on the Judiciary of the U.S. House of Representatives v. McGahn in which the House Committee on the Judiciary sued Don McGahn, former White House Counsel for the Trump administration…

Leondra Kruger is a Biden favorite and has been under the thumb of California politics since her appointment to a judicial position. Conservative organizations are already looking for a way to keep her out by forcing the records of her history. Not a good sign. Or good signs for either.

“Trump is real good at picking liberal justices. Maybe they should ask him who they should pick.”

Best zinger of the day. He could pull out that stupid list.

I think it’s going to be Kamaltoe Harris. Biden will not run in ‘24 and Harris is a guaranteed loss. They have to get her out and a viable candidate in place. It won’t be Bootyjudge. They can put in a known moderate as VP and then the incompetent Joe can step down due to a health crises. That gives the new VP time to build a better chance for the dems to keep the White House.

Let’s be fair. Most conservatives - and count me in - were thrilled with President trump’s choices.

Something seems to happen to people on our side who join any big government bureaucracy. The press and bureaucratic pressures bear down hard. It is too bad, but the Clarence Thomases and Anthony Scalias seem to be of a bygone breed.

“That’s what will happen, IMHO. Gets rid of her, and allows Biden to pick a new veep.”

Biden can’t pick his own nose. His handlers will pick the VP.

the one good thing we have going in our favor .. is that it is nearly impossible to replace him with someone worse. Chances are a replacement will be more conservative at least on “some” issues, since Bryer was just a mindless rubber stamp of the left.

Nearly all black conservatives are like Thomas. They spend their entire lives defending what the believe, and are thus unlikely to magically move left upon confirmation.
