Russia threatens 'appropriate measures' if West's responses to demands aren't constructive
Fox News.com ^ | January 26, 2022 | Lawrence Richard

Russia’s top diplomat on Wednesday promised to take appropriate measures if the West’s response to Moscow’s security demands is not found to be constructive.

The U.S. agreed with Russia that it would answer questions regarding NATO's military presence in the region. The Kremlin has accused the West of a military expansion that raises security concerns for Moscow, Reuters reported. The report said Ukraine had no objections to the U.S. responses.

"If we do not receive a constructive answer from the west on our security demands, Moscow will take appropriate measures," Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said in a statement, Reuters reported.

Russia is seeking sweeping security measures and the guarantee that Ukraine will not be allowed to join the transatlantic NATO alliance.

The statement comes after Ukraine approved a list of actions the U.S. has promised to take to avert a military crisis.

Ukraine Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba said his country was completely behind the U.S. and resident Biden regarding the negotiating effort, Reuters reported.

Russian President Vladimir Putin has a "menu of options" for taking hostile action toward Ukraine, Fox News contributor Daniel Hoffman said to Fox News Digital on Tuesday.

"He could blockade the Black Sea and the Sea of Azov," Hoffman said, highlighting the 100,000 Russian troops Putin has stationed at the border with Ukraine. "He could launch a full-throttle assault on Kyiv, which we would obviously see. He could also use his Spetsnaz guys, special forces guys — and they're inside Ukraine already — to topple this Zelensky government. That's also an option."

"I have a high level of confidence Putin will do something," Hoffman added. "As far as what that is, I'm not even sure if Putin has decided yet."

Putin could also turn off the natural gas spigot to Europe. That would get those Greenies squealing like stuck pigs.

I doubt Putin cares too much about the Olympics. In 2008 he occupied Georgia the day before the summer Olympics opened.

The fascinating thing about this is, the US has a long history of using special forces, CIA and terrorists to topple democratically elected governments. And then we install our own dictators. The fact that Russia is threatening to do it and we are asking Nato to stand with us to stop it, well, it is the height of hypocrisy on our part. When i discussed this with someone I know who leans left he accused me of being a Russian Sympathizer of which I laughed in his face over the nonsense. I asked him what gives us the right to do this and not allow anyone else to do it? He replied and said we are the guardian of the world. I said you mean dictator of the world? He seemed confused. And then he called me a Tumpanzee. I asked him what does that mean? He said if you’re not with Biden on this, you’re a Trumpanzee. I said not everyone is a partisan hack job and most of us have free thought and embrace our free speech and I am sorry it offends you. I then said so you agree the US is a dictatorship, and demands allegiance without question, and all must follow or be damned? He changed the subject.

Democrats are not aware that they are the dictators, those who demand all must obey and follow them or be labeled, condemned or isolated. They want to go to war against Russia, badly. They believe that Biden can defeat them in the air, sea or ground and not risk a nuclear attack. It’s insane thinking.

Assuming no ulterior motives, the Russians have a point. How would we feel if Russia parked nukes in a bordering country? I mean, I remember the Cuban missile crisis. We are basically doing that to them. Throw military weapons and troops in Ukraine, whatever. But doesnt seem unreasonable to remove the nukes. I think we should also take them out of Turkey. In fact, remove all our nukes not in the US. Except maybe Japan if there are any there.

That guy is way beyond "leaning left". He leans so far he has already fallen over, so "falling down left".

I can't keep from thinking that Putin may have a plan/agreement with China where he would take Ukraine, or part of it, and distract the U.S. to move men and equipment there, or near there, at which point China would attack Taiwan. It would be a win-win for Putin and China. But the Chinese want the propaganda win of the Olympics to finish first.

Putin and Xi have something planned in late February. Count on it. The only thing Biden has planned is his diaper change and pudding time.

"i"US has a long history of using special forces, CIA and terrorists to topple democratically elected governments."/i"

Uh er . . . Can anyone say Euromaiden?

Virtually every single American involved in Euromaiden was leading the way into the illusion of collusion starting in March 2016.

Victoria Nuland

Geoffey Pyatt

The two diplomats also were prepared to escalate the already extensive U.S. involvement in Ukraine’s political turbulence. Pyatt stated bluntly that “we want to try to get somebody with an international personality to come out here and help to midwife this thing [the political transition].” Nuland clearly had Vice President Joe Biden in mind for that role. Noting that the vice president’s national security adviser was in direct contact with her, Nuland related that she told him “probably tomorrow for an atta‐boy and to get the details to stick. So Biden’s willing.”

America’s Ukraine Hypocrisy

Civil society activists and NGOs played an important role in organizing this early protest movement. Ukraine’s independent media—including Ukrainska Pravda, Nashi Groshi (Our Money), and Slidstvo.info—were also pivotal in exposing the corruption that eventually brought people onto the streets in November 2013.

Hmmmm . . . what NGOs might that be? Oh yeah, the ones from US Government supported by Congress such as USAID and NED. All involved in Euromaiden.

Understand Euromaiden and you understand whats going Washington DC corruption at the highest level.

"I have a high level of confidence Putin will do something," Hoffman added.

The lie is that he doesn't have the moral high ground.

We DID promise the Russians no eastward expansion of NATO back in 1990. We broke that promise.

We (Obama, Blinken, Soros) helped foment the Ukrainian revolution that sought to cutoff Russian access to the Black Sea.

We encouraged Ukraine to force the people of Crimea and Donbas back under Kiev rule even thought they want nothing to do with a government that came to power illegally.

And, what's the national interest in doing all this? None that I can see. The purpose appears to be a mechanism that allows corrupt politicians like Biden to get kickbacks from Ukraine and other Eastern European nations by feeding off their hatred of Russia. Or to funnel money to defense contractors that bankroll political campaigns.

“We DID promise the Russians no eastward expansion of NATO back in 1990. We broke that promise.”

Please show the evidence that the US or NATO signed any agreement between them and Russia, not to expand eastward.

Just another Putin propaganda lie. There is no agreement.

A rich lie at that, coming from the Russians, who violated every arms control agreement they signed.

“We (Obama, Blinken, Soros) helped foment the Ukrainian revolution that sought to cutoff Russian access to the Black Sea.”

Nonsense. Russia has access to the Black Sea both at Sochi and Novorossiysk which is the single largest port on the Black Sea complete with a major Russian naval base.

Whatever Ukraine chooses to do or not do Russia would still have this access to the Black Sea.
