"I have a high level of confidence Putin will do something," Hoffman added.

The lie is that he doesn't have the moral high ground.

We DID promise the Russians no eastward expansion of NATO back in 1990. We broke that promise.

We (Obama, Blinken, Soros) helped foment the Ukrainian revolution that sought to cutoff Russian access to the Black Sea.

We encouraged Ukraine to force the people of Crimea and Donbas back under Kiev rule even thought they want nothing to do with a government that came to power illegally.

And, what's the national interest in doing all this? None that I can see. The purpose appears to be a mechanism that allows corrupt politicians like Biden to get kickbacks from Ukraine and other Eastern European nations by feeding off their hatred of Russia. Or to funnel money to defense contractors that bankroll political campaigns.

“We DID promise the Russians no eastward expansion of NATO back in 1990. We broke that promise.”

Please show the evidence that the US or NATO signed any agreement between them and Russia, not to expand eastward.

Just another Putin propaganda lie. There is no agreement.

A rich lie at that, coming from the Russians, who violated every arms control agreement they signed.

“We (Obama, Blinken, Soros) helped foment the Ukrainian revolution that sought to cutoff Russian access to the Black Sea.”

Nonsense. Russia has access to the Black Sea both at Sochi and Novorossiysk which is the single largest port on the Black Sea complete with a major Russian naval base.

Whatever Ukraine chooses to do or not do Russia would still have this access to the Black Sea.

The claim of Western promise not to expand NATO to the east has been disproved over and over again.

The claim is based on a few oral statements allegedly given by NATO’s Mr Werner (now dead), German FM Mr Genscher (dead), and American FS Mr Baker to their Soviet counterparts, referenced by someone else. The most quoted sources for this seem to be a few German publications, among them Der Spiegel.

Mr Gorbachev himself has disproved the allegation of such a promise

Did NATO Promise Not to Enlarge? Gorbachev Says “No”

The interviewer asked why Gorbachev did not “insist that the promises made to you [Gorbachev]—particularly U.S. Secretary of State James Baker’s promise that NATO would not expand into the East—be legally encoded?” Gorbachev replied: “The topic of ‘NATO expansion’ was not discussed at all, and it wasn’t brought up in those years. … Another issue we brought up was discussed: making sure that NATO’s military structures would not advance and that additional armed forces would not be deployed on the territory of the then-GDR after German reunification. Baker’s statement was made in that context… Everything that could have been and needed to be done to solidify that political obligation was done. And fulfilled.”
