Mayor Eric Adams says allowing non-citizens to vote for NYC elections is ‘best choice’

Mayor Eric Adams said Saturday he supports a controversial bill to allow hundreds of thousands of non-citizens living in New York City to participate in local elections.

The City Council approved the “Our City, Our Vote” measure in December, despite concerns from more than a dozen lawmakers, former Mayor Bill de Blasio and some constitutional experts.

This is EXACTLY what I predicted we'd see from Eric Adams. He is nothing more than a chocolate version of DumblASSio. First thing he does is cave to the libtard lunatics and agree to let NON CITIZENS VOTE in municipal elections. That will still allow them to set policies favorable to freeloaders such as themselves, all at actual taxpaying CITIZENS' expense. That will still allow them to run for municipal office and some day sit on that collection of lunatics and anal orifices known as the City Council--the same morons who gave NYC the no bail-no jail monstrosity responsible for a massive increase in crime, and now this law granting unconstitutional voting rights to people that don't even belong here. What the heck kind of country allows illegal criminal invaders to VOTE? They are lucky if they don't get shot, and generally wind up in prison where they belong. They don't get feted with free food, free housing, free education, free medical care, free legal help, etc. and then get handed a precious privilege--the right to vote. Is THIS what our heroes fought and died for during several wars? So that freeloaders looking to get on Uncle Sam's lifetime gravy train could be handed the same privileges as American citizens?

Eric Adams is nothing more than a jumped up ghetto punk. He gets his marching orders from the radical left. He's a devotee of Al Sharpton and that lot. So what can you expect? Anyone who can get out of NYC should flee immediately.

De Blasio mortally wounded New York and dug its grave. Adams is rolling in the corpse. Only a masochistic fool would voluntarily live, work, raise a family or send his kids to school in these unlivable, lawless Democratic run urban cesspools.

If i don’t beed to be a legal citizen to vote in NYC, why do I need to be a resident of that shit hole to vote. I think anyone in the world should be able to vote in NYC elections.

We paid a great deal as a nation for NYC and its infrastructure and shold not allow it to be ceded to foreigners. This is not a local issue.

Some folks held out hope for Eric Adams, given that he was once a police captain. Yo can count on a police captain to be a solid, sensible individual, right?

Well, no. No more than you can count on one of today’s “woke” generals to be a solid, sensible individual.

Interesting point. Show up on Election Day and demand a ballot. Not a “resident”? You’re there, right then! Length of residency reqirements? Arbitrary and discriminatory, against US citizens.

Give up on NYC.
It’s hopeless.
Nothing could improve it save for plowing it down and starting all over again.
Oh, and this time, keep out the riff-raf (e.g., leftists).

And why shouldn't non-citizens be allowed to vote in NYC?

After all, desparate, alleged election-stealing Democrats can always steal votes from non-citizens in order to stay in power. /semi-sarc

The ultimate remedy for unconstitutionally big, alleged election-stealing, Democratic Party-pirated federal and state governments, allegedly manufacturing crises to oppress everybody under their boots...

Consider that the states effectively have "veto power" over continued unpopular, unconstitutional actions of the feds.

More specifically, all the states can effectively “secede” from the unconstitutionally big federal government by doing the following.

Patriots need to primary federal and state elected officials who don't send voters email ASAP that clearly promises to do the following.

Federal and state lawmakers need to promise in their emails to introduce resolutions no later than 100 days after start of new legislative sessions that proposes an amendment to the Constitution to the states, the amendment limited to repealing the 16th and ill-conceived 17th Amendments (16&17A), little or no discussion required imo.

In fact, I challenge the states to ram the repeal amendment for 16&17A through the ratification process faster than Nancy Pelosi irresponsibly rammed unconstitutional Obamacare through the House. /semi-sarc

Insights welcome.

Dems have to have mixed feelings about this. they already control everything they want to. Do they really want to manage a new constituency with unknown leaders?

I think they will find that the La Raza types are a little harder to put on the payroll than the traditional NYC black voters.

Very true, people saw , police captain, and thought he was a law and order candidate.

What people don’t know is that to make rank on a big city PD
you have to be one of the good ole boys.
You have to kiss butt on the way up, thinking, acting and promoting whatever politically correct actions your bosses take.
This guy is just another link in the liberal governing chain.

> I think anyone in the world should be able to vote in NYC elections. <

The argument is that non-citizens are affected by NYC laws, so they should be able to pick the people who make those laws. If folks accept that argument, then they should also accept yours.

After all, NYC policies do have a ripple affect around the world.

We should nuke NYC and DC.
(I’m fine with adding Philly, Baltimore, Camden, Detroit, Chicago, SF, LA, Seattle, Portland, Austin, STL, and many others)

So, some schlump right off the boat, with no knowledge of American English, no knowledge of the ways of busiiness, and, of course, no care for the American citizen, is going to physically vote on issues he knows nothing about, that will effect every American citizen.

what could go wrong?
open season, anybody?

IF ILLEGALS can both, then I demand that I not be required to show my ID, name and address when voting either! Gee, won’t elections be fun then?
