BRUSSELS (AP) — A total of 45 reporters and media workers were killed doing their jobs over the last year, the highest number among them in strife-torn Afghanistan, the world’s largest organization of journalists said Friday.
The figure represents one of the lowest death tolls in 30 years, since the International Federation of Journalists first began publishing annual reports in 1991 on journalists killed in incidents related to their work. Sixty-five deaths were recorded in 2020.

Reminds me of the joke, What do you call 10,000 lawyers (reporters) at the bottom of the ocean?
A good start.
Just don’t call them heroes.
need more data:
-comorbidity factors
-autopsy reports
-drug use (legal and illegal)
Probably because 95% of today’s reporting is done by Twits reading other Twits tweets
Pretty safe life sitting on the couch in your jammies with a laptop

I Scarcely Give A S.....
That’s the thing.....these guys go to dangerous places to report what is going on and then they come back and lie about everything or at least distort the implications of the facts they are reporting in such a way so that people are led to come to pre-determined political or philosophical conclusions.
What utter foolishness...it would be safer for them to sit at home and make crap up on their computers then to go some place dangerous to gather facts and then come back and make stuff up.
All of COVID?
Really??? Reporting what??? COVID?????
“The figure represents one of the lowest death tolls in 30 years...” That’s because there are fewer journalists today who learned their trade in the school of hard knocks.
The evidence is that the penalty for lying is death
Were they all pedos?
Too few.
I wonder how many died covering A’stan
Funny how news articles champion the greatest heroes of the World, journalists; just like screenplays champion their heroes, writers, with fedoras and typewriters.
Nine were killed in Afghanistan, eight in Mexico, four in India and three in neighboring Pakistan.
The Eight in Mexico is really interesting, Biden, Democrats, and all ...
Probably ...
I feel the same way about “reporters” that I feel about ambulance chasing lawyers. No great loss. They’re both a dime a dozen and are real pains in the ass.
Dies pursuing their own game and fortune, not seeking truth and don’t give a damn about honesty and good governance.
Your average private in the Army knowns more about sacrifice and honor than those Pulitzer-seeking egomaniacs.
the article misspelled “communist propagandists”.
