More than 1,500 previously classified JFK assassination files have today been made public, including documents about killer Lee Harvey Oswald's contact with a KGB agent two months before the shooting.
The files were released at noon on Wednesday by the National Archives, after months of delays by Biden who had promised to make them public but then stalled, claiming COVID backlogs was the reason.
They include memos detailing anonymous phone calls to the US embassy in Canberra, Australia, a year before the shooting, where the caller said the Soviet Government was plotting to kill Kennedy, and details of Oswald's meeting with a KGB agent at the Soviet Embassy in Mexico City two months before the shooting.
Another call was placed on November 24, two days after the shooting, claiming the Russians were behind it.
Oswald's wife Marina, who was was Russian, is referenced throughout the files. One details how a Moroccan student contacted the CIA after the shooting and claimed he had been her boyfriend. The relevance of that to the investigation is not known.
In September 1963, Oswald met with Consul Valeriy Vladimirovich Kostikov, a KGB agent. The meeting has been referred to in previous documents but new details emerged today. It's unclear who initiated the meeting.

Thank you. As an aside, I’ll readily admit I have a strong distaste for Eisenhower. He inflicted disastrous harm to the GOP, effectively destroying it as a national party at the Congressional level and making an ever-increasing Socialist/Communist-sympathizing Democrat party a permanent majority. The 1958 elections (the biggest one-time loss the GOP ever suffered in the Senate before or after) should’ve been an enormous warning sign about 1960, and instead good ole Ike did next to nothing to stop JFK and help Nixon when he could’ve.
Although as we know Nixon was no Conservative paragon, I think the 1960s would’ve unfolded dramatically different with him as President from 1961-1969. I believe he would’ve liberated Cuba (because unlike JFK, Nixon didn’t fear Khrushchev, and knew he was a strutting peacock and blowhard), taken a more moderate approach on Civil Rights (which would’ve kept a substantial chunk of the Black vote with the GOP - Nixon still got 1/3rd of their vote in 1960 - and prevented their wholesale radicalization), not bungled Vietnam in the early going, and we would’ve never had the deranged legislative & spending orgy of Great Society.
Perhaps I have too many high hopes for an earlier Nixon Administration, but I still cling to the belief that we would’ve been better off across the board had the fiasco of JFK/LBJ not inflicted their agenda on the nation. It would indeed be curious to see.
Agree.
The Commies in the US “establishment” never forgot Nixon’s effective Anti-Communist efforts (truly Conservative activism against the “underground” leftovers of Truman, Eisenhower and ...Kennedy, still in the gubmint. What Nixon did proving Alger Hiss (and thus Harry Hopkins and several others with FDR and Truman, selling the US and the free world out to Stalin)— they never forgave him that either— hence, the nothingburger in all truth that was Watergate. The current Russia Hoax proven actions by demonrats far exceeds anything in Watergate— waaay beyond the demonrats ability to control the after facts, destroying the entire story and uncovering their criminal actions.
The Stalinist agents of then are sort of like the lying a@@holes embedded into our govt now, who are all muzzies and obama (obamaumao, as i call him) sycophants Alinskyites, who are pulling the strings of their puppet, JoeBama Biden.
I was starting to think that as well.thank you.
