RIP Mike. Say hi to Davy (who played Ocean City, MD's Sunfest or Springfest, I forget which, one year) and Peter.

Yours is at least the fourth thread.
I loved the Monkees. I won a raffle at school during my 7th grade and their album was the prize. It’s the only thing I won in my life except for my beautiful and patient wife.
There were a couple of posts. The one I browsed seemed to have a normal number of comments. My comment: so many people who had their heyday in the sixties are gone.
When did he get his booster shot?
Did you try to search the complete title? Unless the title of an earlier post matches your search exactly, nothing will come up.
It’s better to search just the one or two words that are most likely to be in a title about something. A search for only “Nesmith” shows three posts to have been made before yours.
He’s taken the last train to Clarksville.
I’ve had his song “Joanne” running through my head the last week or so. The early 70’s were some great music.
I’m ProMonkees!
Took my daughter to see/ hear them years ago.....
.it was in a smallish theater of sorts....
...no one told me to take ear plugs!
I was deaf for 2 days!
Good song writer. He deserved better.

Thanks for posting this. I peruse Free Republic every day, and did not notice the earlier threads. And don’t take the freeping ankke biters to heart, regarding earlier threads or comments about searching skills. They may have taken to heart the Disney tune “It’s a Small, Small World” and have apparently chosen to live in it.
The Monkees inspired me to learn how to play guitar.
Had a little band in 6th grade and played a few songs for our graduation party. Mike was my favorite because he was a “real” guitar player.
