I didn't know anything about this case until a couple of days ago. It's very interesting. That poor man! I'm glad she apologized to him.

That’s so nice of her! Now her conscience is clean and we can put this whole mess behind us.

Barf.

He should sue her for everything she has or will have, plus more.

It is disturbing to me that she kept passing it off as a failure
of the system, and not a failure on her part to be damned sure she
was accusing a man justly.

Not only did she send the wrong guy to prison, and forever
harm him to his core, but she profited off of it.

Oh but it was the system’s fault... /s

Yeah, the system played a part in it, but she pulled a guy out of
the blue, and accused him falsely. Otherwise the system would not
have been involved at all.

I know she went through a very traumatic event, and I’m not here
to say she didn’t have any reason to seek justice, but wow, to do
this to a fellow human, then sort of wash her her hands of her own
part in it?

I’m glad she apologized to him. As of the last I had read about it, she didn’t. She said “I know you’ll never get your life back” and so on, so she left herself open for a suit - or maybe they already settled, you never know. I don’t think she deliberately messed with him. She did get attacked. I think it was an honest mistake, albeit a very tragic one. Kinda looks like the cops didn’t try too hard to find the guy who actually did it.

She should sign everything she owns over to him.

What I want to know is this: Did her testimony and ID in a lineup put him in prison?

This case should be a reminder to every potential juror - those tearful eyewitness accounts can be very wrong.

Don’t take everything that is said at face value.

She needs to do 16 years as a sex offender in federal prison.

Only way to get close to what she did.

Weather she truly believed he was the attacker or not, it was a false accusation.

False accusations of criminal actions should be punished.

If they result in conviction/imprisonment of the falsely accused, it should be severally punished.
