Sen. Jeanne Shaheen (D-NH) predicted Monday that there would be a “revolution” if the Supreme Court overturned its landmark Roe v. Wade decision as the justices prepare to hear arguments in a highly anticipated case on the issue.
During a virtual event featuring the Granite State’s House and Senate delegation, Shaheen was asked if she believed the abortion debate had become “muted” since so many Americans do not remember life before Roe was decided in 1973.
“I hope the Supreme Court is listening to the people of the United States because … I think if you want to see a revolution go ahead, outlaw Roe v. Wade and see what the response is of the public, particularly young people,” she said. “Because I think that will not be acceptable to young women or young men.”

I believe Roger Taney received similar warnings when hearing the case of Dred Scott. So i guess Shaheen supports this kind of insurrection.

No, there wouldn’t be a revolution. I think it would work out like Prohibition. There will be a LOT of illegal chemical abortions. There will be fewer illegal surgical abortions. Women with money will travel to where it’s legal. Poorer women will take risks and some will pay with medical complications, and some will go to jail. There will be glorification of the lawbreakers in movies and songs, and the line between criminal behavior and normal behavior will be blurred. Then everyone will acknowledge that trying to enforce a law without first winning popular support is a bad strategy, and the ruling will be reversed.
Why revolution? The lib women and sleep-arounds will still be able to kill their babies — they’ll just have to do it in state where it’s legal.
Sounds like a call for insurrection if you ask me. If it happens, she should be arrested, immediately.
