hough the two countries already cooperate militarily, a recent document defines their relationship more concretely.
Russia and China’s defense ministers inked a roadmap for closer future ties, moving closer to a de facto military alliance. During a video conference call, Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu and Wei Fenghe, the Chinese Defense Minister, signed the cooperation document “simultaneously” according to TASS, the Russian state-owned news agency.
Russia’s Defense Ministry explained that Russia and China have “expressed a shared interest in stepping up strategic military exercises and joint patrols. During the call, Shoigu explained that both his country and China have been partners on many issues for years, but that “today, in conditions of increasing geopolitical turbulence and growing conflict potential in various parts of the world, the development of our interaction is especially relevant.”
Increasing Cooperation
Russian and Chinese military cooperation has recently accelerated. Earlier this month, a joint Sino-Russian naval group sailed through Japan’s Tsugaru Strait, a body of water that separates Japan’s northern and southern islands. Though the strait bisects the country, the narrow body of water part of international waters thanks to a legislative quirk that allows American nuclear submarines to transit the passage— and any other Navy.
Russia and China’s interests intersect in several ways. Though both countries acknowledge the danger posed by global warming, Beijing and Moscow could benefit enormously from a warming climate. For Russia’s part, a thawing Siberia opens up access to mineral resources. In addition, less ice in winter could allow Russian oil exploration in areas that were previously too costly to access.
It is no surprise, given Russia’s geography, that the country is an Arctic power. However, it is surprising that China calls itself a near-Arctic power, a designation that has aroused suspicion and controversy among the Arctic powers.

Next partition of Poland, coming right up.
We need to make India a closer ally. Militarily, diplomatically, and industrially. If companies don’t want to move production to the US, India could make a good alternative. Lots of meds used around the world come from India. They have good industrial, biotech, technology. They also have very poor people where investment is necessary to lift them out of poverty. They would make a good ally, imo.

Putin is no fool. No way is he going to trust that Mao Wannabe who pretends to run China. But they can intimidate the West by feigning co-operation. They’ll turn on each other in a heartbeat.
All China & Russia need do is commence their annexation plans simultaneously, optionally informing other tyrants of the planned date so they can further overload the USA’s response. “Planned date” likely will be “the announcement of Biden’s removal from office”; given top turmoil in American governance (either incompetent Harris becomes POTUS, or she having been replaced a completely unelected coronation commences to the outrage of half the country) and the prospect of multiple simultaneous wars to defend countries the Administration cares nothing for, US response will likely be nothing beyond sternly-worded letters written by DGAF lackeys.
Bonus: the US likely reneging on protection treaties, given the inability/unwillingness of this Administration to stand by prior agreements, international respect & reliance on USA as the global superpower will wane as other benefactors of “sure, we’ll protect you” will get the message of “well, maybe not after all”.
So...50 year old equipment supporting new equipment that won’t work?
Ukraine and Taiwan will be attacked on the same day and nobody will do squat.
