The jury in the murder trial of Kyle Rittenhouse asked Judge Bruce Schroeder in the Kenosha County Court on Wednesday morning whether it should view video evidence in court or in private, prompting the judge to quip: “My nightmare has come true.”
The judge was referring to controversies over the video evidence presented by the prosecution during the trial, including whether zoomed-in images enhanced by artificial intelligence were admissible, and whether the prosecution withheld a higher resolution version of a video than the version that had been provided to the defense until the last day of the trial.

The judge rightly would prefer to give the jury the opportunity to reach a verdict of not guilty, because that is unappealable and Kyle would walk free for good. Any result other than that may see us going through this whole thing again in another year.
All the time every day. The defense is well funded and somewhat competent. Now think of going through this 1/4 or 1/8 or 1/20th of the resources Rittenhouse has. The process is the punishment, as James O'Keefe has just reminded us.
You are right...Both want to say the other guy did it,not me
FNC reported that the judge commented that jurors have to watch video evidence in the presence of a judge per WI law. He apparently quipped that it seemed like an outdated law in this day and age where video evidence is common. Jurors should be able to flip through video evidence like they can photos and documentation in privacy with other jurors.
I suspect he made the comment in that context.
I dunno. If I were on the jury and heard that there was another, clearer copy, I would want to see it as well. Especially if it became known that the clearer copy was w/held by the prosecutor. It would make me think they were hiding Kyle’s innocence.
100%
Good for the jury. Seems like they are tech savvy. It is not easy to know if a video has been manipulated. Someone must have informed them.
[[zoomed-in images enhanced by artificial intelligence]]
Enhanced could mean altered. I can “enhance” photos (and often do for my photos site), but doing so, one can so enhance something as to change what really was present (ie, I can turn the color green to,yellow, or any color I choose, rendering the photo a false representation of the actual scene wheni took the photo)
Or,8 can “increase” the detail, making something appear,to,appear to be something it isn’t in some cases (for example, increase detail on a leaf on a tree so much,, to,the point that it appears to be something else because the detail enhancement distorts the original object, and makes it look like say an apple instead.
Photos and video, can be deceiving depending on how much “enhancement” is done to them- for instance, a blurry object in a hand can be pixelated looking, but “enhancements” can kae it look like something it isnt. Especially when it is suggested to be something it isnt...the power of suggestion.
(Like, when folks listen to EVP’S where supposedly a ghost speaks but you can’t make out what is said IF ANYHTING, and the person with the audio SUGGESTS that it says something, then you can sorta hear that yourself when they loop the audio over and over)
Not to mention, we don’t know if, or to,
what extent, the videos haven’t been altered.
While a retrial is a bad possibility, getting railroaded is even worse. Rittenhouse is looking at a life sentence! We would hope that if there is a retrial, he would have better representation.
Yes. If there is some tech/young person on there, they may be able to see what/why the difference is.
The jury is terrified about the verdict and what happens to them and family members..They want the judge responsible for it..The judge wants them to do their job......
Excluding evidence is a pretty extraordinary remedy. To do so paints a bulls eye for appeal. The safe path is to admit it with limitations and let the jury decide, which is what will happen 99% of the time.
Exactly. I spoke to that in my last long-winded post lol
The two images are merely to demonstrate how much blurrier the video that the defense received is compared to the one the prosecution held back. Like I said, you'd have to watch 2-3 different videos to know who's who and pick out Kyle to see if he aimed his rifle at Ziminsky.
I am semi tech savvy and wouldn’t be able to tell the difference unless I was shown both videos side by side.
It would be more fair to ask if the Pope is Catholic, because I don't think he is.
Any judge rightly would be reluctant to toss the case at this point.
What say all of you ? :
DJT is no longer in office, so rioting can’t be pinned on him. Blame for mass rioting, destruction, burning, etc. will fall on Ds in Wisconsin and DC....
...don’t you think ? BLM may despise Ds as much as Rs, but official democrats in DC and Wisconsin won’t like the splash.
How much rioting and who gets blamed ?
Photographs can be manipulated. Should they be allowed?
But he won’t because he’s part of the swamp and his precious selfish life is on the line. This was such a set up ...for him to admit that blurry video was a completely disgusting and off-the-wall move. Regrets? I think not. This is part of the plan. They’re taking too long... I’m afraid that Kyle will be convicted... not holding out for hope because our judicial system is so corrupt and broken and our society is divided. This judge answers to the FBI, DOJ and the powers that be...not to the American people and the doctrine of fairness, he showed his true colors by allowing a blurry doctored video .Gutless!
