Democrats plan 'raft of taxes, charges, and levies' on energy industry In late 1973, an Arab-led oil embargo on several Western countries sent gas prices soaring, forcing Americans to ration their time behind the wheel. To conserve gasoline, a newly minted senator from Delaware voted in favor of capping the nation’s speed limit at 55 mph. Almost 50 years later, Joe Biden is overseeing a petroleum price crisis of his own making through his self-proclaimed “clean energy revolution.” As consumers face soaring gas prices, President Biden needs to pump the breaks on his punishing policies.
According to the AAA, the national average gas price has recently hit a seven-year high of $3.24 per gallon. The rise is being felt across the country, in both the highest and lowest cost states. Texas often enjoys some of the lowest average gas prices in America, but drivers have faced roughly a $1 per gallon increase over the past year. Meanwhile in California, where Sacramento imposes the highest gas tax in the country, the state average is up by approximately $1.20.

Nobody is more bullish on oil than Joe Biden.
I do work with a company that has been seeking drilling permits (onshore) for 14 months now - the BLM won’t return calls and is basically closed for business. We have been badgering them constantly. This is for new drilling on currently valid producing properties. Interior Department is basically just not doing their job because they have been directed by the BidenHarris Junta to halt oil drilling in the United States.
Yeah, he’s full of bull alright........................
Public or private lands?.......................
“self-proclaimed “clean energy revolution.”
Can someone explain to me just what the hell this even means? Did AOC or somebody invent an engine that runs on cold fusion?
It’s a cliche to make the housewives swoon.
Could we pleeeze stop using “doubles down” in headlines?
Indian reservation lands. BLM and BIA have to approve drilling. Not happening.
If I were the Indians, I’d Sioux...................
The American people must be punished.
There is a strong element of revenge in each of the cabal’s policies. We have very angry, vengeful people at the levers of control, and they hate our guts.
Go straight to the tribal council and leave the BIA out of it. Make them an offer they can’t refuse since their primary motivator, in my professional experience with tribal negotiations, is money.
This would setup a nice federal court case for the tribe to exert primary authority over all happenings on tribal lands as their BIA overlords would go bananas about losing out on all that money.
I haven’t heard of a federal agency that answers their phones.
Not the IRS, not SSA, and not the BLM. Even the IRS hotline for Enrolled Agents has an answer rate of about 2% ...
(In a previous life I helped install custom software in IRS and the CA FTB call centers to speed up answering calls ...)
So exactly what are the federal unions doing to make these agencies better?
I proposed that the 2024 President pull the authority for the current federal unions on Jan 20 2025 ... if we make it that long.
You win!
The low-level clerks and “support personnel” at my former workplace are the ones complaining most bitterly about the price of gas (in California).
I clearly remember them hating and bashing Trump - as they enjoyed low(er) energy prices and stocked supermarket shelves.
First thing out of my mouth is “who did you vote for?”
If I hear Biden or Newsom, I tell them they are to blame for the high gas prices.
Most don’t make the connection and say what the media do: “Trump’s fault.”
Sad part is they can pretty well do what they want on Federal lands and waters but have no say so over state and private properties. Deal with the Fed’s and you deal with the Devil.
Will Biden again support 55 MPH?
Remember how Bush was slammed for being in the pocket of big oil?
It means 2/3 of the country living like the Amish do because modern utilities and fuels will be too expensive. People will have to ride share in an electric van to do a monthly trip to the store. In winter, people will have to bundle up even when in their house.
