A. By making these comments about President Trump the good Colonel has just cut off getting a pardon, getting out of the brig in 2022. Getting his commission and retirement restored, restoring an Honorable Discharge. And wiping out what ever the Marine Corps decides what to do with him.
B. He made his first video and gave his opinion. He was told to put a cork in it and to stand down from the comments by his chain of command. At this point he may have just gotten a entry on is service record and be passed over for promotion. Perhaps assignment to some obscure duty station to finish out his 20 years. He made the choice to keep on keeping on. Not the first comments but the second and third comments are his undoing. .
No, he doesn't have the right to say what he wants about the chain of command. He is subject to the UCMJ and it specifically deals with this. He is going to be found guilty of one or more articles. One can only hope that it doesn't entail five years in the brig on top of the financial ruin that will be heaped on him.
There was a saying in the Old Corps about courts martial. "We are going to have a fair and impartial hearing, now bring the guilty bastard in and lets hang him!"
The good Colonel doesn't have a leg to stand on in his defense.
