Because the military protects democracy, but does not practice it! You cannot publicly second guess your commanders because you would be left with no military.

If subordinates questioned every tactical decision, the service
couldn’t function.
The problem I have with this, is that this man is held to
account, and Milley seems to be the darling of the Left
right now.
Milley is on my “S” list, because he deserves a lot more
criticism as this guy does.
I will say this for this guy.
He didn’t spout off during the action. He spouted off
after it, and for pretty good reason.
I do not have as big a problem with a guy addressing
facts after an event, as I would if they were causing
friction prior to or during execution.
