A Black woman in Virginia alleges a neighbor plays monkey noises and racial slurs over speakers to taunt her family from inside his home, but authorities say there's little they can do about it.
Jannique Martinez says her family and other neighbors have been harassed in her Virginia Beach neighborhood for more than a year, reported NBC affiliate WAVY.

Morris Day had a hit with “Jungle Love” that included (IIRC) some monkey noises. And plenty of actual Rap includes slurs.
Maybe this woman just hates black music? Stop with the hate, Lady!
My baseline assumption today is that these are false accusations unless proven otherwise, the false accusations are that prevalent.
Sad but true.
There are laws against disturbing the peace with excessive noise. If something is loud enough to be clearly heard by neighbors, it might qualify as DTP. Why no citations for that if it’s happening constantly?

Nope, just watching PLANET OF THE APES reruns on high volume. Of course, to NBC News, that probably evokes “horrifying” memories of border patrol ape agents on horseback. Either way, “IT’S A (LEFTIST) MADHOUSE!!!”
If the music is so loud neighbors can hear it, I don’t know why the police can’t make him turn it down. I’ve had the police shut down a couple of noisy neighbors.
Maybe it’s real, maybe it’s not. If he’s not violating local noise ordinances... There’s no law against being the north end of a south bound horse, it’s a free country. Or at least it was...
It’s so loud that it shakes her house.

Or aim some kind of Havana syndrome death sound waves at his house.
Almost every single hate crime is a hoax and usually, the lies are easy to spot. But one thing that rings true in this case is monkey noises. Our own few real racists at FR do monkey references.
