Two hosts of “The View” tested positive for COVID-19 on Friday in advance of a planned sit down interview with Vice President Harris, causing the show to shift gears and announce plans to interview Harris virtually as a precaution.

Sunny Hostin and Ana Navarro tested positive for the virus, Joy Behar announced live on air Friday morning, after both co-hosts were awkwardly ushered off the set and the program went to a commercial break.

Behar said that both Hostin and Navarro have been fully vaccinated and had breakthrough cases.

I am not a doctor. What is the difference between testing positive for having Covid and testing positive for having had Covid in the past? If there is a difference, how long after testing positive for having Covid does it take to convert to testing positive for having Covid in the past? Thanks.

I hate the term "breakthrough" case. They need to admit that the vaccines aren't very effective. If they were 100% effective and someone got the vid, that would be a "breakthrough" case.

Going by memory here which may be faulty. Yes, I have experience.

You need to test within 2 weeks of symptoms for CURRENT infection. PCR test.

Wait a month after to get anti-body testing for PAST infection. Too early might not be enough time for the anti-bodies to appear.

I’ve had many PCR tests, one of which was pos. Since my whole circle got it, my husband and son were able to anti-body test about 2 months after sick and we’re pos.
