The big three in meat are JBS, a Brazillian company, Tyson and Cargil. There is one with a 10% share who is a Brazillian competitor to JBS.

https://www.nasdaq.com/market-activity/commodities/le Click on Max. That is supply side pricing. That is what farmers are being paid.

They are not sitting on supply. They are paying farmers less and charging us more. They are 4 gas stations on the same corner who are the only gas buyers and sellers.

The bill mentioned upthread fixes this, but since it isnt filled with graft has almost no chance of passing.

The reason there are only 4 gas stations is government regs prevent smaller scale operations from getting in.

This is a problem of government making. The big 3 + 1 bribe the government to erect huge entry barriers to the industry. As a result the farmers and consumers take it up the whazoo.

“National Beef made no comment”

Au contraire…there a HUGE national beef with Chairman Xiden. They just asked the wrong people about their beef with him.

If you want meat shortages, get the government more involved.

Hey, Biden - stop printing money like mad and maybe we wouldn’t have these inflationary manifestations.

I guess it’s down to civil war style eating coming our way: hard tack, jerky, and weak coffee.

Rein in prices that are artificially high, thanks to BigAg.

That is.....unless there’s a YUGE worker shortage. 🤔

Bill Gates to the rescue? 🌱

I shop my local butcher who also happens to be the rancher. He raises both grass fed and grass fed/grain finished. He also sells pork and chicken from other local farms. Always transparent in his costs, no matter what they are. Haven’t seen much if any uptick in his pricing.

It’s their fault the prices have gotten so high. So typical of them to cause a problem and then to pretend to want to solve it.

He’ll issue an order that everyone that hasn’t taken the jab has to give up eating meat.

The government is going to "rein in meat prices"?

Look for meat prices to rocket to the moon.

“Problem: unlike non-perishables, theres only so much one can store at a time”

That is a fact. And with the current situation of power being unreliable it would be easy to lose it all if you stocked up and froze too much. Back on the ranch we used to butcher and jerk out whole Beefs, Burros, and Venison to get through. Canned quite a bit also.

We also used to be able to get “Range Beef” at a couple store chains. It was real lean and was better for jerking than feed lot Beef with all the fat. Wish range beef was more common than it is right now. Now is when very lean Beef could turn out to be real handy.

Somebody please keep that LUNATIC AWAY FROM OUR FOOD.

Is there any more pieces of minutia that he can use to divert attention from the BIG THINGS?
