The big three in meat are JBS, a Brazillian company, Tyson and Cargil. There is one with a 10% share who is a Brazillian competitor to JBS.

https://www.nasdaq.com/market-activity/commodities/le Click on Max. That is supply side pricing. That is what farmers are being paid.

They are not sitting on supply. They are paying farmers less and charging us more. They are 4 gas stations on the same corner who are the only gas buyers and sellers.

The bill mentioned upthread fixes this, but since it isnt filled with graft has almost no chance of passing.

The reason there are only 4 gas stations is government regs prevent smaller scale operations from getting in.

This is a problem of government making. The big 3 + 1 bribe the government to erect huge entry barriers to the industry. As a result the farmers and consumers take it up the whazoo.

I guess you did not notice they just gave their work force $2.55 an hour pay raise. Starting pay is now $16.80 for an entry level worker.

Guess what that “Corporate wokeness” about “paying a living wage” has to be paid for with higher prices
