Over the years, homeschooling has been embraced by Western countries. However, its policies are often misunderstood by the American educational system. And while most parents would reconsider public schools if offered a chance to enroll their kids in private schools, parents are still skeptical about homeschooling and the compensation for teaching their kids at home. https://www.managementstudyhq.com/do-parents-get-paid-for-homeschooling.html
No, but they save bail money.
Yes.
Their payment is not being thrown in jail by government tyrants for schooling their own children.
They’ll be happy with that and like it.
No!
Providing resources equals exerting control.
Also, there would be government oversight and parents would be accused of fraud if they took the money and failed to teach their children the wonders of gay sex and how horrible they were for being white. This would all be verified by regular testing.
At least you should not have to pay for property taxes allocated to schools.
They should however be allowed to stop paying school taxes
While it’s your prerequisite to homeschool your child, parents don’t get paid to teach their children from home. Homeschooling is a choice, and as such, considered private schooling. However, some states’ families will receive credit taxes or even deductions if you homeschool under an umbrella school like a charter school. So if you’re anticipating such incentives, please check with your state laws for clarity.
Break the unions, keep control local, board members accountable for what they require to be taught.
Exactly. Keep government out of it.
I was paid in special memories, like the time I was yelling, “The value of pi is 3.14159.” to a kid in the kitchen while I had my head in the clothes dryer pulling out a load of laundry.
Those were good times. :-)
True homeschooling happens when the parent fully withdraws (or never enrolls) in the local school district and then chooses the curriculum and teaches their children themselves, with perhaps some help from friends and family and an online class or two. In CA, there’s no funding provided to the parent for that.
There’s a new form of homeschooling where the parent partners with the public school district, and there may be some funds available that way. But it’s not really homeschooling as the district still controls the content to some extent.
People who have zero.children pay out the nose for school taxes in Texas. How about not making childless people pay for other people children’s education first. Then we can talk about letting the actual parents not pay.
because you benefit by having an educated populace...of course not the garbage indoctrinations that now pass for education.
+1!
+1!
Parents could also opt out of being paid and continue to homeschool on their previous resolve to do so. You at least have school board meetings where the people of a district confront the government face to face, and they have been; where better to start to break the power of the government?
Has a workforce ever de-unionized?
That’s like government shrinking.
So the teachers unions are setting the Biden Covid policies; if thet lose control at a local level, who cares if they remain in a union?
