THOUSANDS of Marines and sailors are taking part in the US Navy's largest war games in 40 years as Washington "prepares" for a future world war amid rising tensions with Russia and China.
Fleets began the Large Scale Exercise on Tuesday and the drills across 17 time zones will continue until August 16.
Marines’ ability to conduct operations in difficult environments will be tested during the drills, according to Military.com.
US 6th Fleet Commander Vice Admiral Gene Black said: “LSE will test our commanders across the spectrum of naval warfare from the tactical to the strategic, integrating the Marine Corps to demonstrate the worldwide fleet’s ability to conduct coordinated operations from the open ocean to the littoral.”
But it remains unknown if China and Russia will “pay attention” to the wargames or if they will be interpreted as an act of aggression.
It’s thought that 36 ships and more than 50 virtual units will take part in the mission alongside military and civilians, according to the Defense Post.
The drill marks a return to similar Cold War exercises that were seen during the 1980s.
The war games come as threats posed by China and Russia do not seem to be disappearing.

Russia and China are our eternal enemies. Unfortunately we have a collaborator in the WH.

Maybe our “woke” U.S. Navy (and military in general) could challege them to some kind of transgender drag show beauty contest that we would have no problem in winning.
Maybe the increasing softening of our standards and encouraging military gayification has accurately convinced the world we are too soft for any real conflict.

I will get flamed for saying this, but at our state we would probably get our asses kicked, not by are military losing but the population not giving a damn and giving up. The only thing a nation like China would need to do is while fighting our military is disrupt starbucks, whole foods, netflix, and 20-30 percent would already give up.

Yeah, no kidding - Vietnam 1966-7 - we have seen this before.
With our track record, it's amazing that we have any allies that believe in us anymore.
Might also be a military problem. I read of a recent war games with the US and an unnamed country using the Taiwan invasion scenario and the US military lost bigly by clumping their warships too closely in the strait between Taiwan and China to present a tempting target and by losing electronics control within minutes. I hope they learned some lessons from that one.

I don’t believe 36 ships is the largest exercise we’ve had in the last 40 years.
We have no leadership at any level in the civilian sector and in fact collaborators with the Chicoms and as you put it woke perfumed clowns who can tell you if they are hip and woke but when it comes to a real fight couldn’t fight their way out of a burning outhouse. The result will be a Pearl Harbor 21st century style and most of the damage will be from cyber attacks.

I was, and I work with them as a civilian now.
Also I wonder if we did go to convential war against china, what would we call it? For calling it the Chinese-American war would probably be considered racist in todays world, just wondering?
