A bill for a guaranteed income program proposed by progressive Democrats in Congress is calling for ongoing $1,200 monthly stimulus checks for adults plus $600 for each child in the household.

The program, called the Sending Unconditional Payments to People Overcoming Resistances to Triumph (SUPPORT) Act, was introduced in the U.S. House by Minnesota Democratic Rep. Ilhan Omar, and co-sponsored by Reps. Cori Bush, D-Missouri, Dwight Evans D-Pennsylvania, Jamaal Bowman D, New York, and Pramila Jayapal D-California.

“Poverty is a choice. For too long we have prioritized endless growth while millions are homeless, hungry or without healthcare” Omar said in a news release about the bill.

“The pandemic has laid bare these inequalities. We as a nation have the ability to make sure everyone has their basic needs like food, housing and healthcare met.”

Just like in any communist system, there is literally no need or reason to work. At least until the government runs out of money.

Just raise the minimum wage to one million dollars an hour. People could work a few hours and retire rich. The only trouble might be those greedy lazy robber baron yucky employers who will probably whine about it not being affordable. Its time they paid their fair share.

Omar, who’s only experience with capitalism is when she cashes her government check, shouldn’t be the person who gets to decide how the rest of the economy works.

Wow..$43,200 in “free” money per year for your average family of four.

Someone do the math and figure out how many DAYS (not months or years) it will take until the US is totally bankrupt and has to default on it’s debt.

In the meantime, better get used to $30/gal gas, $20 hamburgers, and a $2,000 per month grocery bill.

Everyone knows who Ilhan Omar and Cori Bush is. How about the rest?

Dwight Evans

Jamaal Bowman

Pramila Jayapal

Omar said "Poverty is a choice." Seems like these democrats what to take that choice away from them.

“Poverty is a choice. ...

For once, I agree with Omar. Poverty is a choice for those in poverty. Just about everyone can do something to pull themselves up. Most people do. Some don't.

And I am NOT talking about catastrophes or accidents or incidents that can cause people to go bankrupt. I'm talking about the chronic condition.

This is insanity. It’s literally permanent welfare. And the only result will be run-away inflation to the point where that $1,200 will be able to buy you a single meal. Do people not understand this or are they trying to destroy the country?

In communist Hungary it was illegal not to work. If you lost one job you had a certain amount of time to find another, otherwise you’d wind up in jail.

This money is the softening up money. After dependency sets in then the forced labor starts.

Watch some of the old Yuri Bezmenov videos from the 1980’s; he explains the whole thing.

Oh, you mean the combined checks of 3 adults?
I am speaking about individuals.
They still exist.
