Team USA was fried by the French in a stunning men’s basketball opening loss at the Tokyo Olympics.
The Americans led Team France by seven with under four minutes remaining, but the French scored the next 14 points for a shocking 83-76 victory at Saitama Super Arena.
Nets star Kevin Durant was in early foul trouble and finished with 10 points on 4-for-12 shooting in 21 minutes before fouling out in the closing seconds. Jrue Holiday net a team-high 18 and Bam Adebayo adding 12.

And prior to that, when some POS threw a banana on the ice when Wayne Simmonds (one of our players who is black - he was later traded) was out there, Wayne simply fought back via scoring a goal. Wayne's a fighter and I am amazed he didn't go full Hanson instead.
Wayne showed how you tackle these problems. Pulling down Kate's statue was the hallmark of a bunch of virtue-signaling suits. In the midst of woke stupidity, that was an exceptionally stupid thing - it didn't make anyone's life better, it solved nothing but it created animosity.
You'll also notice the Flyers have sucked since then...

A team of college all-stars could beat the U.S. Olympic team this year.
The only offense the NBA knows is pick and roll. The Europeans know how to defend it. It’s not that hard

Maybe the players can petition the Olympic committee to make kneeling an Olympic event. I’m sure they’d do better at that.

lefturd loons ruin everything they touch because they believe that to create their utopia, they have to first destroy the current society before they can replace it.

The Enforcer was also a function of how teams used their depth in that era. Teams carried 18 skaters — typically 12 forwards and 6 defensemen. The standard approach to managing this roster was to use three forward lines and two defense pairs, with the fourth forward line and third defense pair used sparingly. The Enforcer was usually a fourth-line winger or the sixth defenseman.
Over the last 25 years, the standard approach to roster management has changed dramatically. Teams roll four lines and three defense pairs, so every skater on the roster has to be able to contribute for 10+ minutes per game. Teams simply don’t have room for “spare parts” on an active roster of 18 skaters anymore, so the Enforcer has quietly disappeared from the game.

I am really scared when they decide to force people for the jabs. Will fellow Americans stand for freedom? I am no longer convinced they will.
You know the old saying about boiling the frog slowly? Well, despite so many obvious usurpations by our government, the communists who run it are still trying to boil the frog slowly, relative to the rest of the world anyway. I think Americans don't appreciate how oppressive things have gotten for European countries like France, and therefore don't understand why the French are so motivated to protest. Heck, people in the redder states in the US don't understand just how nasty things are in the blue states.
The commies have control of most of our government and institutions now, but they are still measuring their steps to achieve their goals because they know Americans are a heavily armed populace. Once the shooting starts, anywhere, it will spread.
The fact is that things are still too easy for most people to take the first, inarguably huge, step. The commies are probing every day to see how far they can push things. Things will get far worse before they get better, because they have to get quite a bit worse before we'll start doing what must be done to fix them.

So many years I was glued to the Olympics. Now I’m actually hoping America doesn’t win a single gold and will not watch a single moment. That's because instead of 'us against them', where the 'them' were often socialist/Communist nations, it's now 'us vs us'. I think many of us have much more in common with the protesters in Cuba than we do with the 'formally educated' yet still ignorant leftists in our own country.

Kevin Love might have left the team because he knew that this team may not be good enough to win the Gold, and that if they don’t he would likely be targeted as a reason.

Thanks. The game has definitely moved toward skill. Are teams still playing the “leftwing lock” counter-attack style? Used to drive me nuts in the 80’s & 90’s when some pretty good offensive teams got throttled by a center ice mugging.

Thanks. Your summary on what I'm feeling is spot on:
That's because instead of 'us against them', where the 'them' were often socialist/Communist nations, it's now 'us vs us'. I think many of us have much more in common with the protesters in Cuba than we do with the 'formally educated' yet still ignorant leftists in our own country.

The coach Gregg Popovich might be the biggest asshole in pro sports. Couldn’t happen to a better guy. It would make me smile if they didn’t even medal.

He’s not good enough to play for France.
