During his Tuesday gun control speech, New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo (D) announced the re-instatement of a law designed to allow gun companies to be sued under the pretext of “public nuisance.”
This puts New York on a collision course with the Protection of Lawful Commerce in Arms Act (PLCAA).
Breitbart News noted Cuomo criticized the PLCAA, making clear he was going full steam ahead with efforts to counter it via the re-institution of New York’s Public Nuisance Liability for Gun Manufacturers.
Cuomo described his goal as removing “immunity” for gun makers.
Bloomberg Law notes Assemblywoman Patricia Fahy (D) believes “the use of public nuisance law is thought to be a sort of legal loophole to work around [PLCAA] protections.”

Conservatives are a public nuisance. Sue them too.
They are turning out pinkos by the pound.
Social Media is a public nuisance. Can we sue them?
We should convince inner city residents to sue Democrats, for decades of failure and false promises. They’re the public nuisance. Reparations and the destruction of the Democrat Party in one fell swoop.
Ah, Mr “As Fugly on the inside as I am on the Outside” once again speaketh excrement.
Bring it, ***hat, we eagerly await the day when we can travel any distance to take a bodacious Obama on your grave.
Gun makers produce constitutionally protected devices. They are sold through a thoroughly regulated marketplace. On what basis can a vendor refuse to sell a firearm to a person who clears the legal checks?
Gender?
Skin color?
Political affiliation?
If you can’t amend the Constitution, you have no basis for action.
Cuomo, you, your entire family and your public policies are a public nuisance.
(snip) Political affiliation?"
Maybe that's exactly what vendors should start doing. It is way past time to give the Left a wake up call.
Sue government officials and government bodies for failures of outcome of policy.
Others have made the point, but I will make again, that suing gun manufacturers is analogous to suing car companies for all the damage and destruction caused by car accidents.
I would love to see eventual court cases on this. As the guns are a legal product, how can one sue the manufacturer over the misuse of a legal product? I know to liberals this makes sense, but how does this make sense legally speaking?
The real public nuisance is Cuomo and the pack of wild hyenas he runs with.
With 400,000,000 firearms in the US (NY Times high end estimate, I think it's even higher) controlling firearm homicides his way is like trying to stop a hurricane with paper towels. Not gonna work.
I wonder what would happen if gun/ammo manufacturers said ok, we will no longer sell guns/ammo to anyone in New York state including law enforcement...
Gun manufacturers to sue cuomo* for being a deadlier nuisance than they are.
*New yorkenese for dumbass.
He probably owns Smith & Wesson stock and wants to drive the price up some more and then dump it.
He is deflecting from his horrific Covid response and gearing up for a reelection bid, so goes for a liberal boogeyman aka gun manufacturers

Any suit on these grounds will instantly be tossed, and the defendants will be awarded compensation for their legal defense costs.
Bring it on, Andy.
