COVID-19 cases are trending upwards in nearly half of all states in the U.S., according to a new analysis of Johns Hopkins University data by USA Today.
Coronavirus infections in Alaska and Arizona more than doubled in the last week, according to USA Today. Cases in South Carolina and Kansas have increased by more than 50 percent.
The number of individuals hospitalized with COVID-19 spiked by almost 30 percent over the July 4th weekend in a hard-hit Missouri area, according to USA Today’s analysis.

Gotta keep it rolling thru the midterms.
Don’t forget to social distance. LOL
Define "true".
PCR can detect one gene from an RNA strand of one SARS CoV 2 virion. I believe that essentially all positive tests are accurate, in that, the tested person has at least one strand of SARS CoV 2 RNA at the site where the test was obtained.
What the presence of tiny quantities of SARS CoV 2 RNA MEANS is a whole other question. But the test, standing on its own specifications, is not "false".
“According to officials cited by USA Today, approximately 95 percent of those hospitalized in Mississippi have been unvaccinated.”
Three weeks in the ICU. What a way to spend the summer or the rest of one’s life.
No doom and gloom in today’s PA Department of Health presser:
https://www.media.pa.gov/Pages/Health-Details.aspx?newsid=1515
Harrisburg, PA - The Pennsylvania Department of Health today confirmed that between 12:00 a.m., Saturday, July 3 through 12:00 a.m., Tuesday, July 6, there was a four-day total of 574 additional positive cases of COVID-19, bringing the statewide total to 1,213,135.
There are 293 individuals hospitalized with COVID-19. Of that number, 53 patients are in the intensive care unit with COVID-19. More data is available here.
The trend in the 14-day moving average number of hospitalized patients continues to drop.
Statewide percent positivity for the week of June 25 – July 1 stood at 1.1%.
The most accurate daily data is available on the website, with archived data also available.
Between 11:59 p.m. Friday, July 2 and 11:59 p.m. Monday, July 5, there were 13 new deaths identified by the Pennsylvania death registry, reported for a total of 27,708 deaths attributed to COVID-19.
At this point, I don’t want to even hear the death numbers. I’m going to live my life the same as I’ve always done. Thank the good Lord every morning when I wake up that I’m alive to see another day, and know that my time can be up at any given moment the rest of the day. Thank the good Lord each night when I go to bed, and hope that I wake up the next morning. Live your life to the fullest you can each and every day. Be grateful for the gifts you are given.
by that reasoning someone with one hair on their head is not bald...a ‘positive’, from a medical perspective, means essentially nothing, unless your goal is to create a panic.
Here is how you tell what a case is.
First, you look at Excess Deaths — the death count in excess of 2016, 2017, 2018 and 2019 averaged together. You note that for 65+ year olds 20% more people died last year than the multi year average.
Then you notice how many people in ICU can’t breathe and notice that’s also far in excess of multi year averages.
Then you look for why this is happening.
And you find rather a lot of them have a 30 cycle PCR measurement that is positive. They die, far in excess of the multi year average.
This suggests you do 30 cycle PCR counts and declare positives to be a case. You’ll be wrong sometimes, but 20% more than typical year will still die. Want a true measure of things? Measure heartbeat of people who died.
Oh and btw, the number of cases that die? <1%. A fraction of 1%. That’s not the proper measure, of course. The correct measure is number of 65+ cases that die. That’s still less than 1%, but not all that much less. No reason to include the whole population in the first calculation. The vase majority were not vulnerable. Just count the vulnerable post 65 crowd. It makes the denominator smaller. Doing otherwise is like including males in the pregnancy rate of a population calculation.
Now, once you’ve absorbed that. Sub 1% . . . Peru’s Lambda Variant is killing 10%. And it’s on its way, unless you think the Border Patrol is going to stop it.
Well, from a medical perspective, if a patient has fever, low blood oxygen, and ground glass opacities on a chest CT AND the COVID PCR is positive, it means quite a bit. It also is quite helpful, with the identical clinical scenario, if it is negative.
Use of the test for population screening was probably unwise from the start - but there have been so, so many unwise decisions, right from the start, that that one isn't in my personal top ten.
If the case # was 100 and the death rate was Zero would that not interest some ?
“According to officials cited by USA PropagandaToday, approximately 2000 percent of those hospitalized in Mississippi have been unvaccinated.”
fixed it
you didn’t write that...you only mentioned a positive reading of a suspect test that even Fauci has admitted was pretty useless. The positive tests were the number one reason used by states to shut down everything...I’d say that’s huge.
“Worldometer, as of July 5th, shows the seven day running average for new daily cases in AZ equal to 493. For a week ago, on June 28th, Worldometer shows the seven day running average for new cases in AZ equal to 493.
The Hill is FOS.”

Yep, that’s why I always like to look at seven day averages… they smooth out the daily reporting anomalies. And, yes, as usual ‘The Hill’ is FOS.
“Cases” are the shiny object meant to distract us from the plandemic beimg an act of war perpetrated by the Chinese Communist Party.
We will survive the virus with or without a vaccine.
We will not survive the CCP takeover of the USA if we continue to be distracted by their shiny object instead of holding them accountable.

Why hasn’t the border been shut?
Why is a variant worse than the original virus?
What percent have taken one or both shots?
Whatever makes you feel better.
Close Alaska, from 20 to 40, so it "doubled". Fearmongering continues. https://covid.cdc.gov/covid-data-tracker/#trends_dailytrendscases
Exceptionally well said.
I still prefer we nuke Beijing until it's a smoldering pile of nuclear ash, but that's just me I suppose.
