New York City will be “fully open” on July 1 — nearly a year-and-a-half after the COVID-19 shutdown, Mayor Bill de Blasio announced Thursday morning.
“We are ready for stores to open, for businesses to open, offices, theaters, full-strength,” Hizzoner said in an appearance on MSNBC’s “Morning Joe.”

I never stopped commuting there and was there just yesterday. I go in at least twice a week and have been doing so through the whole past year of this nonsense.
I have yet to see the chaos that keeps getting reported by the media. I'm sure it's out there somewhere. Maybe they come out at night. I usually catch the 5:28 train out of there. But for the past year, my trips to Manhattan have been noneventful. Yeah, you still got your street bums and aggressive panhandlers but that's always been the case. Nobody seems to hassle anybody other than that.
I'll be in Minneapolis next week - I expect a noneventful trip there too.
Stop watching the news on TV. It will stress you out.

That seems to be the effective Nationwide drop dead date for re-opening, being communicated from the White House.
The Democratic Governor of New Mexico came out with it yesterday as well (albeit leaving the door open for sooner, if enough (60% fully) get vaccinated.
All the Governors hopped right on board with White House guidance to open vaccine eligibility to all adults before May 1st.
By the end of June, ending restrictions should be a no-brainer. Well, even more of a no-brainer...
