Rep. Steve Stivers (R-OH) announced Monday he will resign from Congress in May to lead the Ohio Chamber of Commerce, giving Republicans one less vote in the House and setting up the state’s red 15th District for a special election.
Stivers, who has served in Congress since 2010 and chaired the National Republican Congressional Committee during the 2018 midterms, announced his resignation with much anticipation for his future.

I just want to know, are we losing a RINO or gaining a friend?
What’s the deal? Does he get a big pay raise by going to this Chamber of Commerce job? Does he have family, and a wife back home in Ohio, who want him home more? You just don’t always know why people give up a seat in Congress and leave politics.
Does anyone familiar with Ohio know how “red” that district is?
Chamber of Commerce = Pro Globalist offshore group.
I dropped out 10 years ago when they were pushing a pro China slant at my local meetings.
I wonder what this guys voting record was?
Oh oh.
If moving to a COC position, a RINO.
They don’t want to employ any US labor, if they can keep from it.
If he’s going to the Chamber of Commerce, he’s no loss.
Maybe democrats have dug up a bunch of bimbos willing to say he ‘made them uncomfortable’. Lots of women are democrats... lots of men don’t have the balls to fight them off when the wife and kids are sitting at home.
Pretty solid red. Stivers won with about 60% vote last year. Mostly rural and some suburbs. Only disease area is Athens home of Ohio U. He will be re-placed with a republican, only question is who.
Adios, Mofo.
Whenever the Chamber of Commerce is mentioned be assured that a RINO is involved.
What kind of kickbacks does being head of the state chamber of commerce offer?
2020 Joel Newby: 140,183 (D) Steve Stivers: 243,103 (R)
Think Jason Chavetzz. Quits out of the blue to work at Fox. Now we need a new campaign and special election for these flakes. If the quitter is in the majority party the seat should go unfilled. Blame the voters for not knowing their candidates.
According to Wikipedia, the 15th congressional district from January 3, 1967 to present (today is April 19, 2021) has been represented by a Republican for all those years except for 2 years (January 3, 2009 to January 3, 2011). Note that Obama’s Blue Wave of 2008 carried that district to the Democrats but not Biden’s Blue Wave of 2020.

I’m going with that one. I thought as Lou Dobbs said many times that the Chamber of Commerce was all in with this illegal immigration. Maybe Stivers is going to work with his own kind. I never heard of the guy but I hope the good folks in Ohio replace him with a staunch Conservative Republican....not a RINO!!
“Does anyone familiar with Ohio know how “red” that district is?”
It’s the Western portion of Franklin County (the shithole of Columbus) and extends to the academic wasteland of Athens County (Univ. of Ohio) with a lot of good Republican territory in between. Even the Franklin area is winnable because the really bad areas are in a different district.
This district *should* be solidly Republican, and we can do better than the squish who is vacating the seat if conservatives unite behind one good candidate in the primary. A Democrat has won this district exactly once since the early 1960s. As long as Ohio has a handle on vote fraud in the Columbus area, this year should not be the second time a Democrat wins.
It’s a good year to replace him with a solid dependable American Patriot!
