The political calculus on the gun issue has changed
The Hill, via MSN ^ | April 4, 2021 | Bill Scneider

Posted on 04/04/2021 6:19:21 AM PDT by libstripper

President Biden will find it difficult - if not impossible - to get bipartisan support in Congress for new gun control measures, like a new assault weapons ban, which passed with bipartisan support in 1994 and expired ten years later.

The Hill's editors must have been horrified to print this generally objective article.

democrats have been buying guns, too.

What for?

Maybe they think “Shaman Guy” is going to occupy their homes, but whatever it takes. Living versus dying is no place for political hypocrisy.

Obama’s first term was the beginning of ravenous buying, just think what’s out there

Actually, since Clinton and the 1994 assault weapons ban has the sales of firearms increased dramatically. Yes, it really shot up under Obama and the increase in islamic terrorism in our communities.

Those 100 million additional firearms need ammunition....now you can understand why there is a shortage.

“democrats have been buying guns, too.”

For the past few months when I drop by the gun store there are 3 or 4 blacks buying guns. Some thugs and some families together. America has become an armed camp. We all, black and white and brown CITIZENS need to take our country back from the crooked politicians. Our country’s government does not represent the citizens anymore. The second amendment was written with a purpose... to protect against an out of control tyrannical corrupt government such as is Washington today.

The United Nations has a map of the US which they took to the US Dept of State for some briefing and it had the US broken up into five “Administrative Areas” or separate units after we are broken up. If memory serves me correctly from Ohio to MS upwards were the boundaries for the area under Chicago.

With all these new firearms owners, we have to get them safety and use training. Nothing worse than a whole bunch of unsafe, unschooled neighbors with weapons.

It's on us (veterans in particular) to train the people we know on the basics of safe handling and employment of ARs and such - to keep everyone safe, to know the requisite laws, and to be able to aim and fire the weapons well when needed. If you have a neighbor or a friend who just started with weapons ownership, take them to the range and teach them.

The Democrats/Leftists are watching for more mass shooting or horrible accident stories to take our rights away. We have magnificent rights under the Second Amendment - but also enormous responsibility to ourselves and our fellow gun owners.

Millions of new gun owners are not going to comply and they know it.

Yep and I really wish people would quit hoarding it. I need more of it. Lol. I do wish the ammo suppliers could make more. And I know it’s legal and all but around here we have people that get calls or texts when the ammo arrives at the store (from employees) and they get there and buy a bunch or all of it and sell it at local gun shows for double or triple the cost. I have seen 25 dollar boxes of 22 ammo going for 75 bucks.

He doesn’t need bipartisan support, but he’ll get a few Rinos anyway.

The assault weapons ban was retarded, it banned pistol grips and bayonets, like banning the fuzzy dice in your Grand Torino..

Being old and wise because of previous experience one learned years ago to be self reliant in times of crisis if it finally hits the fan.

I inventoried my ammunition last week. There is no shortage.

Good. The less Congress gets done, the better.

Banning bayonet lugs on rifles was due to all those drive-by bayonettings in South Central in the early 90s . . .
