An alleged orgy with prostitutes. Accusations of sex with an underage girl. A trophy photo of a woman wearing only a hula hoop. And a convoluted extortion plot involving a likely dead American hostage in Iran.
Even by Florida standards, the Matt Gaetz saga is downright bizarre — and getting weirder by the day.
Before this week, the young Sunshine State congressman and ally of former President Donald Trump was best known, like his mentor, for his ambitious conservatism and promontory coiffure.
But this week, the Republican has faced a daily flurry of scandalous headlines.
Most seriously, he is being investigated by the Justice Department for allegedly having sex with a 17-year-old girl, and for paying for her to travel with him across state lines, potentially violating federal sex-trafficking laws.
Gaetz denies the allegations — but not the fact of the investigation.
Then, on Thursday, CNN alleged that he had shown fellow lawmakers nude photos of women he said he’d slept with, including one photographed wearing a hula hoop, and nothing else.
There have also been claims by two of Gaetz’s enemies that the FBI has photos of him in a “sexual orgy with underage prostitutes.”

If all this is true, Gaetz might be qualified to work for Burisma.
If everything except the crossing state lines with a minor is true I don’t see how it’s anybody’s business. Gaetz is a bachelor so he can play the field however he sees fit. If there is some sort of moral problem with that it would be up to his constituents to decide if he’s fit for office.
Dershowitz says he isn’t the main person they are investigating and none of these things should have been leaked.

On the other hand there is the alleged weird extortion plot by the Pennsacola attorney and former DOJ prosecutor with the connections to the Iran hostage case of Levinson, whose case was suppressed in the news during the Iran Deal negotiations. The attorney, according to this article, is in cahoots with someone named Bob Kent / Robert Kent.
The attorney apparently says Gaetz is in cahoots with a Florida official Joel Greenberg, who is under investigation.
Nancy and Swallwell want Gaetz barred from the House Judiciary committee. Swallwell gets to sleep with proven Red Chinese spy Christine Fang, WSwallwells fund raiser for his election, but Gaetz can’t pursue young Amercan women?

Change one detail of these accusations “slightly,” the women to men, and Gaetz is a hero, courageously “being who he is” - Bahney Fwank-style.
Is the Joel Greenberg who is working with the attorney Gaetz says was extorting his Dad the same one who was a Jerusalem correspondent for the Washington Post a while back ?

Since this is his only reference to last year’s incident, readers with little or no memory are left with the distinct impression that it was Israeli commandos who set out to stage a “deadly raid” aboard the Mavi Marmara. By writing that Israel made the ship a “target” for its “deadly raid,” Greenberg suggests that Israel, deliberately and with an act of clear volition and intent, set out to kill passengers aboard the ship — the opposite of what actually happened.
When it came to spilling blood, it actually was a group of Turkish extremists who armed themselves with lethal weapons and brutally attacked the commandos before a single shot was fired in self-defense by the Israeli side.

Before Barney and his hot-bottomed boytoy who was turning tricks on the side there was Gerry Studds, who got caught with one page boy that would have counted as statutory rape in his home state, and tried to seduce others. He got off, got re-elected and Barney famously joked about word getting out that Gerry had struck out 2 out of 3 times.
As I said about Roy Moore back in 2017 ... I’d vote for Gaetz even if every outlandish accusation about him is TRUE — because Congress is exactly where deviants, misfits and criminals belong.
There is no indication nor reporting that Joel Greenburg knows much less was ‘working with the attorney who was extorting Gaetz.’ Greenburg is the former Seminole County Tax Commissioner who’s under a dozen or more federal indictments ranging from misuse of public funds to child sex trafficking.
‘Joel Greenburg’ is probably one of the more common Anglo-Jewish names around. Likely scores if not hundreds of them in the US. Nothing in his background suggests he’s ever worked as a reporter.
