The alleged gunman charged with slaughtering 10 people at a Colorado supermarket bought an assault rifle a week prior to the shooting — and was caught “playing” with it by a family member, according to new court documents.
Ahmad Al Aliwi Alissa purchased a Ruger AR-556 pistol on March 16 — six days before going on a deadly rampage at the King Soopers in Boulder, according to an affidavit unsealed Tuesday.
His sister-in-law, whose name is redacted, told investigators that she saw Alissa, 21, “playing with a gun she thought looked like a ‘machine gun'” in the days prior to the shooting, the court papers say.
“Alissa had been talking about having a bullet stuck in the gun and was playing with the gun,” the affidavit reads.
The document notes that the sister-in-law — who was tracked down by detectives at Alissa’s home on Monday night — was “hesitant to mention” what she’d seen.

I will challenge your statement with a test you can do at your home range. Take any high power rifle (of any caliber 223 or up) and compare this with any pistol caliber. Set up two plastic gallon milk jugs filled with water and capped at about 30 feet (close enough you cant miss).
Shoot the first with the pistol or pistol caliber rifle. (For demonstration purposes the pistol will be more in contrast to the high power, but even a pistol caliber rifle will work.) You will most likely see a hole going in, maybe the back blown out a little, and the water will drain out.
Shoot the second with the HP rifle. The jug will pretty much split and shatter six ways to Sunday. The water will explode out and you are left with a scarp of plastic.
The difference is the shock wave from a bullet passing through at upwards of 2500 ft per sec vs the penetration of a bullet at or below 1500 ft per sec. The body response to the two velocities is very different. The slower round, the body parts tend to actually get pushed out of the path of the bullet. For the high velocity round, the resulting cavitation tends to, well, more than just tenderize that meat.
The argument isnt about ambushes or recoil, its about energy transferred. Yes, you can kill someone with a pistol, but I can get you with a rifle from much greater distance than you can with a pistol and do much greater damage.
Guess the fibbies were too busy picking up Dr. Simone Gold and other "dangerous Capitol criminals" like Viking Guy with teams of dozens of agents and armored vehicles to spare anybody for this Musloid POS - even though they knew about him...
Wait didn’t the Dems pass a bill saying he had to wait like 10 days before getting his nug
what does that mean?
That it is ok to lie on the forms you fill out to buy a firearm?
so far btw we do not know he bought it from a company and filled out forms
Correct, they have not released from where he got the gun or if it was legally obtained
Funny how they can’t ever find or track these “migrants” who come here like the Boston bombers yet tell us about boogaloos or whatever they’re called.
We live in clown world for sure...a dangerous Pennywise type of clown world.

“The difference? Suspect Ahmad Al Aliwi Alissa not only was of apparent Middle Eastern descent and bore an Islamic-sounding name, but he had a record of posting anti-Trump complaints and expressing pro-ISIS sympathies.”
WHY is the perp only bleeding a little? He should look like Swiss Cheese! *SPIT*
We aren’t talking distance shooting. We’re talking close quarters ambush. Both are quite deadly. Yes, the AR will make more of a mess. The Virginia Tech shooter killed over twice as many people with 9mm pistols. There’s no such thing as killing someone twice as dead - dead is dead. And if you are going to the milk jug test a shotgun with slugs does more damage, much more, than an AR or a Pistol. But all three kill that milk jug dead.
No, we were talking about the effects of a rifle round vs a pistol round. I dont know why you want to argue.
As much as I like Clint Eastwood, Ramone was right:
When the man with a 45. meets the man with a Winchester, the man with a pistol is a dead man.
No we are talking the lethality of rifle v pistol in a close quarters situation. Both are totally lethal. That’s the point I made in my very first response. I never denied that a rifle is more powerful and leaves a wider wound channel. The AR-10 is even much more powerful than the AR-15 but wouldn’t necessarily be any more deadly in this situation. If the Virginia Tech shooter had an AR rather than 9mm I have no reason to believe his death toll would have been much different. And Ramone would also have said, when a man with a pistol meets the unarmed man, the unarmed man is a dead man.
You may have been. I was not. I was pointing out that statistically, given medical attention, a pistol round is survivable 90% of the time unless it’s to the head. A rifle round is far more lethal by most of that 90%. This is borne out by the fact that there were no wounded survivors.
We will have more productive conversation when you don’t try to change change what the other person is saying. And I’ll just finish by saying that too many freepers spend an inordinate amount of energy on arguments of their own doing.
Here’s what voters on both the left and right need to know, in my opinion.
Democrats are trying to pass more gun control that will disarm us and make us defenseless against terrorists and other criminals who would want to commit mass murders. At least some of those terrorists and criminals have taken advantage of places that were more likely to be frequented by defenseless victims (examples being mostly leftist Boulder or Arvada).
Joe Biden is trying to hurry legislators into passing more gun control laws, because he knows that voters will soon be better informed about what really happened.
It’s just like the violent black “teens” that assault and murder a helpless elderly person. “He was autistic and had mental issues.” Or my personal favorite was the “post traumatic slave syndrome” cooked up by a defense lawyer.
His parents brought him to the US when he was 3 years old.
He was only 3 years old. He and parents entered legally.
Wow! He’s actually only 21? He has not been taking very good care of himself. He doesn’t look a day under 40.
That was not a SBR, but an AR pistol. My wife has one and loves it.
Why do these mass shootings only occur when the DemoNazis are in charge?
