Don’t forget the basics of how viruses work: They mutate (change) meaning that a vaccine that is effective now will be worthless later. To stay immune, you have to take a new vaccine to guard against the new strains. These means endless shutdowns since vaccines take time to make and distribute and get into people’s bodies.
