I recall a few years ago some nightclubs opened in the area that catered to an ‘urban’ clientele. Crime rates started up.

It used to be (a half century ago) a nice shopping and residential area. Specialty shops, a three story marble clad Sears, a Mercedes/British Leyland dealership. Looks like Henri’s is still in the area.

Talked to an APD cop a few weeks ago. They’re 20-25% understrength and don’t feel like the new DA or the mayor and council have their backs. Suburban forces won’t render mutual aid unless there’s an officer down.

My statement may offend some folks, but here it goes: My dad was active in Buckhead Coalition (a ‘good ole boys’ group. He told me 20 years ago that white folks were moving out of Atlanta city, headed for the suburbs, and letting the black folks handle Atlanta.
