Texas and Mississippi followed Florida’s lead this week and announced they would lift key business restrictions and end statewide mask mandates, but many popular retailers plan to continue requiring customers to wear face coverings in their stores.

These states who take away the “mandate” merely take the “criminal” out of it. NO ONE is saying not to wear a mask.
HEB says they are not requiring customers to wear masks anyway, last I heard.
I go to the store that requires no mask.
I surprised (but not really) walking around the first few days of Mask Freedom and still seeing all these scared sheep still with thier stupid face diapers on.
A private business can most certainly have you arrested for trespassing if they ask you to leave and you do not.
I am also in Texas. Saturday is the day I run errands. I usually got to Costco, HEB and Home Depot or Lowe's if I need some tools or equipment. I have no doubt that every one of those stores will still be requiring masks tomorrow. I won't be browsing or shopping. I go in with a list, get my stuff and leave. But I know I will need a mask.
Life's full of compromises.
What meatspace and sutherner said; if the business asks you to leave for not wearing a mask, and you don’t, then they can say you’re trespassing and call the cops on you.
Have you seen Vermont’s travel restrictions?
Draconian and still in place.

apparently science got the brunt of the hit.
They're soon to be unpopular retailers.
And people will start going back mom and pop retailers (if any still remain).
Right, but that’s at a different level then being arrested at the front door or whatever.
It’s their private business, they have the right to do it if they want. Also you could walk in without a mask and if they ask you to leave turn around and walk out. If enough folks do that they might rethink it.
Or just shop elsewhere. Let’s let freedom and free markets determine.
Still a powerful force
UH Oh, I had lunch in Manchester, near the Orvis Store. Spent lots of money.
Shows you, the little people; who your REAL rulers are. THey are owned by the CCP. Free country, my *ss.
It's really that simple. But a mask mandate tells me that I (and my money) are NOT welcome.
I’ve been pondering this. Authority is manifest at many levels. My state may lift restrictions, but local health officials or business owners may keep them in place.
Who cares? If the government isn’t mandating masks, it’s no problem. If you don’t want to shop at a store that requires masks, don’t. Problem solved. The anti-maskers are now becoming indignant crybabies. It’s called freedom. Make your choice and don’t expect everyone else to make the same choice. I hate masks, but I don’t hate people who wear them.
Any mask karen that says anything to me
or gets close I tell them to keep their filthy germ ridden mask the hell away from me.
