A North Carolina woman who lied to get a coronavirus relief loan spent the money on shopping excursions to Nieman Marcus, Nordstrom, Louis Vuitton and diamond stores, federal prosecutors said.
She created false documents claiming $350,000 in gross revenue in 12 months for her online clothing business, Jazzy Jas, even though other paperwork filed in early 2020 showed the company was effectively dissolved in September 2019, it said.
On Feb. 17, a grand jury indicted Clifton on wire fraud in relation to a disaster benefit and fraud in connection with major disaster or emergency benefits.
The charge of wire fraud in relation to disaster benefit carries a maximum prison term of 30 years and a $1,000,000 fine. The maximum penalty for fraud in connection with major disaster or emergency benefits is 30 years in prison and a $250,000 fine.

Odd, I can’t seem to find a pic of this woman...................... Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm....................
And I but her hair is in a bun no makeup and she wear pajamas to the stores.
I thought Nieman Marcus went out of business last year?
Hell, I thought biden and his band of thieves would have given her the presidential medal of freedom for her thieving plan, since they are all thieves!!
Strange that.
“If convicted, Clifton faces 30 years for each charge and a possible $1,250,000 combined fine.”
How much you want to bet probation at most with reduced amount in restitution, no loss of voting rights. Too bad she didn’t pay off her student loan (?) instead of shopping - she would get more sympathy and the government never lost the money!
Clifton filed articles of incorporation for a businesses called Jazzy Jas that sold clothes online in February 2019 and registered it to her home address, prosecutors said in a bill of indictment.

Starting to feel like a total loser... the only person in the US who didn’t get a new Lambo, travel to an exotic location, and buy the wife a whole new collection of Louis Vuitton purses and shoes from Corona virus funds.
Just another scan artist ripping off tax payers.

The source of this report left out its most important element: Was she wearing a mask when she committed the crime? If not, add 10 years for committing a “hate” crime.
. Ahhh man... those crazy Amish !
If my husband bought me expensive purses and shoes I would tell him to return them. I’d rather have cords of wood and a nice supply of canned goods. I’m a practical person and those things , to me , are not practical. However, if others want them, so be it. That is their choice.
