The Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee (DCCC) tapped Dyjuan Tatro, the former “triggerman” for Albany’s Original Gangsta Killers, or OGK, street gang to help lead efforts in protecting House Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s (D-CA) slim majority in the House.
The DCCC, led by chairman Sean Patrick Maloney (D-NY), hired Tatro, a former New York gang member, to serve as a senior adviser for “diversity and inclusion.” He served time for “shooting two rival gang members in 2006” and was also convicted in 2011, serving six years for racketeering conspiracy, according to the New York Post.
According to the outlet, Tatro “confessed to the shootings, and to a ‘razor slashing’ of another victim in 2002 as well as to dealing drugs,” making around $12,000 per month doing so.
The DCCC has vehemently defended its decision to hire him, praising him for turning his life around. He, notably, appeared in the 2019 documentary series College Behind Bars, where inmates “seek college degrees – and a chance at redemption – while incarcerated.” He earned his bachelor’s degree through the program.
The DCCC has forcefully defended its new hire, describing Tatro as someone who “has worked hard to change the trajectory of his life through education and service to his community.”
“He has served his time for the crimes he committed and is now a national leader in the bipartisan movement to reform our criminal justice system and bring meaningful improvements to the education system in American prisons,” a DCCC spokesperson said.
“Such critical work breaks cycles of recidivism by making sure more people leave prison with the skills to hold down a job and contribute to their communities,” the spokesperson added.

Eat your heart out Hitler's Brown Shirts.

It is the WORST on the Planet
BAR NONE!!!
SMH
What’s he going to do, get his gang members to force people to vote for Democrats at gun point? With our system of fraudulent voting he could probably get away with it. No one would question it
There’s no diversity there. All the Dems are crooks.
I hope the two rival gang members he shot were appropriately diverse and inclusive.
Organized criminals employing organized criminals. Hardly a surprise.
Man, that takes me back.
Before it’s Memory Holed:
ALBANY — A triggerman for the notorious Original Gangsta Killas street gang has been sent to federal prison for more than six years.
DyJuan “Dy” Tatro, 25, already serving time for shooting two rival gang members in 2006, received 73 months in prison for racketeering conspiracy Thursday from U.S. District Court Judge Gary L. Sharpe.
It comes in addition to 78 months behind bars he has already served, and for which he received credit.
Tatro, of Albany, was among 25 members and associates of the South End-based “downtown” gang, known as OGK, charged in a racketeering case in 2009. It followed a similar case against the “uptown” Jungle Junkies street gang in the West Hill and Arbor Hill neighborhoods in 2006.
Tatro pleaded guilty in December, admitting he made at least $12,000 a month dealing drugs and conspired to traffic more than 50 grams of crack cocaine.
He also confessed to an Oct. 5, 2002 assault on Delaware Avenue, an Oct. 16, 2003 razor-slashing of a victim on Clinton Avenue and the double-shooting of rival gang members Dushan “Lil Du” Wilson and Andre Blakemore on Feb. 16, 2006 on Washington Avenue.
The double-shooting was in retaliation for being shot by a Jungle Junkie member, court papers said.
In March 2008, Wilson was acquitted of murdering OGK-linked Elleek Williams, 24, outside Yana’s Grill at Sheridan and Lexington avenues. One month later, Tatro sent a letter to a friend trying to reach Wilson in the hope that Wilson would testify it was Williams, not Tatro, who shot him in 2006.
“Now to this statement I need. Quite simply I need him to say who shot him (Elleek), how it happened, that it wasn’t me and that me and him actually have a friendly relationship. If he can put down the truth ... I would be very grateful,” Tatro’s letter stated.
Wilson, now charged in cases in both state and federal courts, did later testify on behalf of Tatro, who was unsuccessful in getting his state conviction tossed.
In court papers, federal prosecutors in Albany said Tatro received financial support from fellow gang members while in prison. They noted one Jan. 12, 2007 phone conversation with his younger brother Kanan, in which DyJuan Tatro told his brother from Sing Sing Correctional Facility, “Yo, K. Give them (expletive) my address and tell them to send me a couple hundred asap!”

Court paper’s show Tatro’s lawyer argued to the judge that his client “does not seek to minimize or dismiss the role he played during a violent period of time in the history of the city of Albany,” adding, “While Dyjuan Tatro was shot by small arms fire and shot others with a handgun, he is no longer that person and will not be that person in the future.”
Tatro is the 13th defendant to be sentenced in the case, including his brother Kanan, who received 4 years in prison in March.
