Media mogul Rupert Murdoch blasted so-called cancel culture and a "woke orthodoxy" that he described as "awful" and suggested was a threat to the free exchange of ideas in the U.S. and around the world.
"For those of us in the media, there's a real challenge to confront: a wave of censorship that seeks to silence conversation, to stifle debate, to ultimately stop individuals and societies from realizing their potential," Murdoch, the executive chairman of News Corp., said in recorded remarks while receiving an award from the Australia Day Foundation, according to The New York Times.
"This rigidly enforced conformity, aided and abetted by so-called social media, is a straitjacket on sensibility," Murdoch added. "Too many people have fought too hard in too many places for freedom of speech to be suppressed by this awful woke orthodoxy."

You are buying into a myth. Fox News was not sold to Disney. It's still a part of News Corp., which Rupert Murdoch is the Chairman and CEO of. (Although it is publicly traded)
So he has always had Fox News, since it was founded.

Rupert Murdoch is a Globalist and more liberal than I am on many issues but any 89 (EIGHTY NINE!!) year old who can still manage corporations and give news conferences has a lot of my respect. His vitality remains something to behold, just like President #45.

truly believes what he’s saying, it may dawn on him what

During the GOP primaries for the 2016 GOP primary all these Freepers hated on Fox News, bashed it good and said they would never watch it again. Then a few months later they magically forgot they didn't like it and started loving it again. They never even acknowledged the bad stuff they said about it before, Stalin style.
So how do I trust the people like you who are saying this now. A few months from now, you may have a different opinion and forget you ever said this.
I remember for 15 years Tucker Carlson was rightly despised on FR, for being a namby-pamby accommodationist. Then one morning all the sudden, Freepers decided he was great, and forgot 15 years of history.
I haven’t had cable in eight years.
