On his first day in office, Joe Biden killed the Keystone XL pipeline. This controversial move was condemned by the United Association of Union Plumbers and Pipefitters (UA).
“In revoking this permit, the Biden Administration has chosen to listen to the voices of fringe activists instead of union members and the American consumer on Day 1,” Mark McManus, president of the UA, said on Monday. “Let me be very clear: When built with union labor by the men and women of the United Association, pipelines like Keystone XL remain the safest and most efficient modes of energy transportation in the world. Sadly, the Biden Administration has now put thousands of union workers out of work. For the average American family, it means energy costs will go up and communities will no longer see the local investments that come with pipeline construction.”
McManus’s prediction about the impact that killing the pipeline will have is spot on. So, this begs the question: Why did McManus and the UA endorse Joe Biden for president last summer? In fact, not only did they endorse him, Biden’s so-called record of standing with unions and creating jobs was given as the main reason for their endorsement.
“This endorsement is about putting UA members to work and fighting for fair wages and good benefits. Under a Biden Administration, that’s exactly what we’ll get,” said McManus in his endorsement of Biden. “Let’s be real: nobody in the Oval Office will be with us on every single issue. But with his long history of standing shoulder to shoulder with working families and his commitment to an all-of-the-above energy approach that will mean more UA jobs, protecting the hard-earned retirements of our members, and appointing union-friendly judges, Joe Biden will be a fierce ally to our UA Brothers and Sisters”

“Doublethink means the power of holding two contradictory beliefs in one’s mind simultaneously, and accepting both of them.”

Want to bet against that 1. the union knew in advance,
and 2. took the workers’ monies for themselves.
Embrace the suck.
Union leaders are the problem....they are corrupt communists.
The UAW was bribed by Fiat-Chrysler to accept lower wages for union workers than the contracts negotiated by GM and Ford.
Multiple arrests and prosecutions and the UAW rank and file did nothing about it.
It will happen again because so many believe the lies of union leaders.
He got the gold mine, you got the shaft!.................SUCKERS!....................
Oh, please. Cry me a river. They will re-endorse him in ‘24. Or Harris.
Which president fought to get pipeline construction underway?
Let them learn to code.
But since the alternative to the pipeline is increased employment for union truckers and railroad workers, the pipe-fitters should be pleased.
” Mark McManus, president of the UA, said on Monday. “Let me be very clear:
We made this deal with the Devil, now we need to suck it up and learn to code.
Biden and union members—dumb as doorknobs—maybe dumber.
Bless em all.
“Let them learn to code.”
AOC says that it is not necessary to work. Let robots do everything. Then the unemployed can have more free time for creating art and poetry.
“Embrace the suck.”
I was going to post that exact phrase, but you beat me to it.
Quite simple, really. The Union bosses are giving lip service to the loss of pipeline jobs, but it isn’t to be confused with them losing THEIR jobs.
No worries. In 4 years, the rank and file union members will be ready to again vote D across the board.
How many union members actually voted for Biden?
We all know the union dues get used primarily for political donations.
McManus is a fool. And the people who elected him as president are fools, too.
McManus making the proper and appropriate noises to assuage the feelings of the actual worker bees. He’ll still be hauling in tons of money for himself.
He told everybody what he was going to do.
Did they think he was joking?
