Why did McManus and the UA endorse Joe Biden for president last summer?

Because union execs will benefit from a Biden presidency. Their rank and file won't, but they don't care about that. The current "condemnation" of Biden is just kabuki theatre, part of the job requirement - if they had to vote again tomorrow they'd endorse Biden again.
