New standards proposed by the Minnesota Department of Education would banish lessons about World War I, World War II, the Holocaust, the Civil War, the American Revolution, communism, George Washington and Thomas Jefferson.
Replacing those significant history topics will be "systemic racism," how democracy has "excluded certain groups," an "awareness" of "the LGBTQ+ community" and how the disenfranchisement of freed blacks during Reconstruction connects to "persistent discrimination and inequity" today.

Those promoting this obscenity are predators!
Minnesota has long been a “quiet” Marxist-influenced state going back to the “Iron Ranges” labor movement and then the Communist Party’s infiltration and influence on the Democrat-Farm-Labor Party of the mid-1900’s.
Now this Marxist revisionism is poisoning the state’s education system. Time to move fast and hard to stop it.
With no WWII history there is no way to understand who Hitler was. He's reduced to an evil meme.
Soon will follow the Trump/MAGANAZI meme.
As part of the Iron Range movement, the Communist movement had youth camps in northern Minnesota in the early 20th century, in Hibbing (Gus Hall’s home town) starting in 1906 and nearby Mesaba Park from 1929—selected partly because of isolation from law enforcement, although the FBI eventually put Mesaba Park under surveillance from 1940 to 1978 (Case File 100-MP-110).
Glenn Beck was saying that years ago.
Twilight Zone and the Obsolete Man.
Disgusting. I assume the parent are all too busy watching TV to find out what thenschools are doing to their children.
They will teach the North Korean narrative.
Those wjho do not learn from the past are doomed to repeat it
These historical events are increasingly remote to the replacement Americans trafficked here to keep public schools going; more and more people in this country are foreigners with no relation to those events.
This change is just formalizing what has occurred over the past several decades; they stopped teaching real history a long time ago.
I majored in history. We have a small library of hard copy books as well as a large digital collection on a stand alone hard drive.
Actually, my grandkids. They are 12, 7, and 5. My daughter had been homeschooling since the eldest was born, but if it is outlawed and our state cooperates with that, she will have to send them to school or risk having them taken by the state. We are making contingency plans now.
Somali’s are running Minnesota.
If they’re cancelling teaching about the civil war then they don’t have to feed the next generations minds full of crappola about slavery ..... Right??
That’s the truth.
And drag those that do down with them.
It won’t be as big of surprise to us though.
Yeah but it sucks to see it happening. If you say anything about it they think you are nuts. I suppose “prepare” is the prudent thing to do.
This ping list is for the other articles of interest to homeschoolers about education and public school. This can occasionally be a fairly high volume list. Articles pinged to the Another Reason to Homeschool List will be given the keyword of ARTH. (If I remember. If I forget, please feel free to add it yourself)
The main Homeschool Ping List handles the homeschool-specific articles. I hold both the Homeschool Ping List and the Another Reason to Homeschool Ping list. Please freepmail me to let me know if you would like to be added to or removed from either list, or both.
Pathetic. How are they going to explain “Reconstruction?”
What event were they “reconstructing” from?
Frickin Idiots in Minnesota. That state should get thrown out of the Union with Georgia, PA, MI, Wisconsin, etc.
At tours of Pearl Harbor and the Arizona Memorial, the docents tell visitors that we were responsible for the Japanese attacking us. It was our fault because we put sanctions on them for attacking China, cutting off their oil supplies. We are “woke,” like it or not, truth or not.
