Why does McConnell need legislation to set up a commission to study the election? He’s the Senate Majority Leader. Republicans chair every committee. Why can’t he study the elections without legislation?

I think this explains the back-story of the back stabbing.

It may be time for a new party, and I speak as a GOP committee member and former chairman.
>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

The GOP is a new party, one of conservative populism. What we witness today in the Senate are the dying gasps of the control of the GOP by country club Republicans and their special interest agenda, especially Big Pharma that has been such an obstacle to a complete response to the pandemic. There is a tremendous cost for Big Pharma’s help in generating a vaccine in the treasonous lobbying refusal to use re-purposed drugs to their greatest effect. This cost tens of thousands of lives needlessly, and is actually a form of genocide.

The country knows this.

And my only hope is that Trump supporters indeed swallow their bile, come out and vote to keep McConnell’s Senate, even when his supercilious actions do not justify it.

Alternatively Trump supporters could just stay home, and watch the Titanic remnants of the RINO party slide down into the black sea of the Deep State to drown, unmourned, as a new generation lead by Donald Trump take over the GOP so it can effectively define and fight the liberal fascism now seizing our nation..

The Cocaine Turtle and Trump very well know that there are traitors in the GOP and that they will rip themselves apart if they are in power. Giving the Senate to the Democrats in the short term under Biden will make it harder for Romney and Collins to make a betrayal move, or will force one to jump ship and become a democrat. Also the Dems will get total blame when the ship goes down under Harris, allowing Trump and Co to sweep in in 2024, this time with Trump Senators and trump himself.

However this move could really backfire as the Dems will pass HR 1 making ballot harvesting legal and giving the Feds a say in redistricting this year.

McConnel bundled the other matters with the $2,000 for every American citizen in the hope that the other matters would kill the legislation and thus prevent the $2,000 for every American citizen from happening.

Exactly, only the stupid think anything else.

I believe in our great president. He’s demonstrated time and time again that he’s on our side. I have zero faith in McConnell.

How exactly does one report less income than one receives from one’s employer? I don’t think most companies would be willing to falsify the W-2s for their employees. That seems like the kind of thing that would bring about prison time for people.

Normally I do not like anything like this. However, given the fact that pretty much most of the economy has been shut down almost a year. Moreover, China has been running rough shot over all our business. They will buy up all of our businesses if we do not give them a major pump. The businesses had ZERO CHANCE when they FORCED SHUT DOWN.

I think one time deal is necessary

INO, $2,000 is too freaking low for a year. Divide $2,000 by 10 months and that comes to an extra $200 a month or $6.66 cents a day. I am sorry but a “Mark of the Beast” financial bump is not going to cut it.

Ideally it should be about $30k per adult taxpayer in addition 6k per child and 300k per business that was forced to shut down for almost a year.

If you take 30k and divide that by 10 months. It comes to 3k a month which is more reasonable.

President Trump has McConnell in a box. Trouble is that whatever McConnell may pass in the Senate, will be DOA in the HOR - Pelosi will kill it, then wait two weeks to reintroduce the legislation - evil commie c**t that she is.

If you file a W-2 you are screwed, period. The government will rob you blind

Accountant I knew always said, it isn’t about how much you make, it is about how much you keep. He always said a guy making 80K a year with 1099/self employed income keeps more money then the guy making 120K a year with w-2s because the self employed 1099 guy gets to write just about everything off.

And if the W2 guy rents, he might as well just sign his paycheck over to the IRS at that point.

We are not subject to section 230, as FR clearly is a publisher, not a platform, as Jim and gthe moderators can remove posts due to leftist or NeverTrumper points of view. FR also has to remove posts that violate copyright demands from publishers such as Getty and Bloomberg.

Your post is exactly right. I am glad we can see through the complexity of competing interests and get at the nugget.

If Mitch does not get the 2K passed, then Georgia will sink Mitch’s Senate CHYNA feeding trough.

President Trump has been waiting a long time for this moment.

There was a fork in the road and he took it! LOL.

You say that like it’s a conscious decision to have a W-2 filed. The vast majority of employees in the US have a W-2 filed by their employer. They don’t get a choice in the matter.

As for renting versus buying, that again is often not a choice. People working minimum wage jobs cannot purchase a house in most markets. You can’t flip burgers or clean toilets and afford a $300,000+ house in any of the higher cost of living areas. Those people need to rent. Trying to get them all buying a house is how we got 2007/2008.

It appears that it is nuts to trust anyone on “our side” at all for anything.

I think the best solution is a new MAGA Party.

It is a known brand name, so hopefully Trump has a legal trademark by now.

I used to support a caucus within the GOP, but they own all the structure, have written all the rules, and are firmly hidden everyplace.

Even the state legislatures and administrations at state level that are run by the GOP, are not stepping up to help Trump.

The only long term response strikes me as a new MAGA Party.

Prices of guns and ammo have skyrocketed at our local gun shops. One owner told me yesterday that IF they give hubby and wife $2,000 each for $4 grand, then he will be wiped out of guns AND ammo as soon as the money hits our accounts. He said people are only waiting for that money to hit his store. We got ammo for my 12 gage, 9 mm, 38 spec, .380, 40 cal yesterday and it was well over $100. I have paid $25 for a box of 40 cal a year or so ago and yesterday it was $40!! for 20 rounds. He had AR-15s for $1,500 to $2,600!!! The one that was $2,600 was some type of special model that the lady clerk told me was only one of like 250 of that model made!!??!!?? IT was an AR15, 5.56 mm. So, not sure what made it so very special. Looked about like all the others I have held in my hands.

AGAIN, the Pols are ‘fighting’ over who will get ‘credit’ for something OR who they can ‘blame’ something on.

Business as usual..

A POX ON ALL OF THEM

Time for an ANTI-INCUMBENT movement.

Just close your eyes and vote for the one NOT in office.

It is the ONLY way we will ever get term limits as they will NEVER pass any legislation which would tend to be an encumbrance towards themselves and their ‘gravy train’.

Oh, boy! A commission to study something! Just like the Church Commission to study intelligence community overreaching? That sure solved everything./s
