Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell introduces competing bill for $2K stimulus checks. It would also repeal Section 230 and set up commission to study voter fraud.
If you make over 99k, you don’t work. That money is to help “working” people.
I believe you are right. This is a ploy.
But what are the chances of it passing in the House? Probably nil.
I agree, just a show and a bad one at that. It needs to be a straight up bill for the stimulus and nothing else.

$2000 has already passed house. So just need to reconcile bill now. .

The air conditioning provisions are enough to vote no on the bill.
A commission to study voter fraud? I thought there already was a Federal Elections Committee. What have those bums been doing about voter fraud in the past 10 years? Nothing!!!!
It needs to be about the $2,000 for each American citizen only.
The other matters need to be addressed separately.

Repeal 230? Never happen. This is a messaging bill that will never pass.
McConnel bundled the other matters with the $2,000 for every American citizen in the hope that the other matters would kill the legislation and thus prevent the $2,000 for every American citizen from happening.
Appropriations bills have to originate in the House. Pelosi won’t even read it.
