Animal shelters are a practical response to a sad reality: Sometimes pets get lost or people are no longer interested or able to care for their furry friends, and dogs and cats need a safe place to stay.
But the end goal is always to get those critters into safe, warm, caring forever homes.
This has been a weird year, with shelters seeing an influx of pets that families could no longer care for alongside a renewed interest in fostering as people started working from home. Numbers have fluctuated as people returned to work, and the holidays are a double-edged sword with families adopting pets — some of which will be returned when the families lose interest.
Their hard work has clearly paid off, as evidenced in a post from Thursday that shows a joyfully empty scene: Rows and rows of empty shelter apartments.
“Do you hear that!?!?!” the humane society wrote. “That is the sound of every single dog in our adoption center being adopted!!!”

WE ALL LOVE OUR DOGS!!!
Every dog?!?
I am extremely suspicious!
Do you think you're being funny? I doubt if your pea brain is capable of originating something actually funny. What a moron you are.
Not news. Happens everyday in Vietnam.
Bite me.
This is nothing. THis has happened for years.
Shelters that have had no dogs in thei areas have been importing mutts from Mexico, Central America, the Islands etc. to clean up and sell in the US.
Sort of like the refugee resettlements of Catholic Charities, they ran out of refugees, and then moved them from state to state to make money and not shut down.
I hate do gooders who over stay their need.
Shelter pups are awesome but so are bred pups. Why do people hate breeders? Totally a liberal point of view that something for-profit is terrible. Not all of them are puppy mills.
We got our Great Bernese from a veterinarian breeder. Hardly a puppy mill.

Coincided with the opening of more Chinese take-outs.
LOL.......
Couldn’t help but laugh
lol hey fido ruff ruff
The same stupid thing could be said of human babies: Don’t breed while children need adopted!
Bite me, dog.

"No, we not seen your cat."
Here in Indiana, the Amish crank out dogs like a factory and have fake front operations of “English” to do the marketing.
(Doesn’t everybody want to buy a nice dog from a “family” breeder?)
Unfortunately they do a lot of bad breeding and make a lot of defective dogs which wind up in breed rescue.
Heck no. I could catch something nasty from an insensitive jerk like you.
